protein powder during workout

im curious to know if anyone takes a scoop of protein powder and has it during their workout.

is it a good idea or not?

Why would you bother? In an absense of glycogen in the body the pancreas will release glucagon which is just going to convert all your precious (and expensive) protein into glycogen.

Have a solid meal ~1 hour before training and save the protein for post-workout when you need it.
