Squats
I like doing both squats on the smith machine and on the normal squat rack i like them both but which one is more effective??

obviously free weight squats, smith machine squats would be useless for somebody your size and experience.

barbell squats cuz its better lol but smith machine squats u can concentrate more on the legs instead of balance

I like the feel of free squats... I'm thinking of trying smith machines, but probably never will. I wouldn't be able to hit my original free squat numbers if I did it on the smith machine for a while.

smith machines just like a leg press... least i see everyone whos uses it in my gym dont squat at all, they lean into it.

What do you think? Do you really have to ask this, the Smith is a resistance Machine. Where as standard BB Squats are free therefore you use, everything, your core stablizers etc. Plus on a smith it is an unatural movement, as you are going straight up and down, the body can't go that way, there will always be bar travel which is infact benificial to the lift.
