I think I'm going to try your training philosophy. I've been taking every set to failure. Have you ever trained with 8-12 reps or has 8 always been the most you've done?
|
Hey man, I'm sure there are A LOT of undercover WoW players on this site, lol.
I always stayed within 6-12 reps for the most part. Most my training has been around 6-8 but for the last couple years I experimented with the 12.

Page not found, but from the looks of the name, no I haven't taken that. Looks like a PH or something.
If you want to bulk like I do, stuff your face and don't worry about your calories.

What'd made you change, and how did you find the 6 - 8 compared to 12?

Might have to try that if my theortically calculated intake of 3600 kcal/day doesn't work

Well, 6-8 is more successful when putting on size and bulking. It's kind of pointless to do when you are really leaning out because not only will u not be getting any size, it also kills your joints. That's my personal experience from last month. I just trained that way to show what kind of weight I can put up. Because as you can see, with this higher volume 8-12 range type training I'm doing, I'm not lifting near as heavy.
8-12 is good for cutting up imo. Tomorrow will be 9 days straight with no rest and I feel fine and the workouts are very intense.

Meh, it's just a matter of me not caring about fat gains. I don't think anyone should worry about it when bulking, but I understand they want to be lean. Who wants to put on fat intentionally? However, I feel it is the most effective way. Why make things harder by counting calories on a bulk? Just sounds pointless to me. If you know what you are doing, cutting is far easier than gaining any size imo. Sure the first few years of training you will put on size easy, but later on it gets much harder. Whereas cutting gets easier imo, you just have to know how to do it.

Coo coo. I do agree with the rep ranges and what you mentioned with each.

From my experience, I would want to keep fat gain minimal, at best. Due to the fact I just finished a cut and lost about 28 lbs and kept my strength. I don't want to do another bulk and then a cut to end up where I started with. yah dig? So for me, I'm just aiming for some set macros, in a day (mainly fat and protein) and making the rest up in carbs. If I go over my macros or the estimated 3600 kcal a day, I won't /wrists
And plus, I'm more intrigued my ability to put on muscle mass on a clean bulk, since I never really took this approach before
Edit: I know there is a degree of me lookign like a hypocrite here for what we discussed in the past. I'm just intrigued to what you think 'bout it.

Yeah this high volume is doing exactly what I wanted it to, which is to tone up and look more defined. I'm starting to look a lot harder and defined already at 175lbs.

lol
Yeah I never really trained my legs back then, but they are fine now imo. My manager just does his job, which I understand. Now I just go on without him if he has to go do his business, not a big deal anymore.

I don't know, however much is in SizeOn is how much creatine I take in. Plus their is 1g in Superpump250.
Yeah, it didn't affect my body too much but it is bothers me psychologically though.
Training is pretty good so far, I have about 8 clients at the moment.

Everyone on this site always says it doesn't work that way and facepalms @ whoever says something like that. I admire your build and dedication and all so I'd like to take your side but I've been convinced that's just bro-science.

Whether it's broscience or not, it's doing what I wanted it to. Never said that anything backs it up. But my pictures will show you what it does for me soon enough.

I think what has been dispelled as broscience here is that high reps = toning.
But higher volume and more time spent in the gym usually equals a lower bodyfat, yes. Common sense.

Size On and Intrabolic
J,
I was wondering what do you think of the Intrabolic mixed up with the SizeOn. I remember you taking Purple wrath before. Pros cons? How much you take?
Awesome progress man and great motivation this thread is for me. Thanks

i do dips and currently do em with like 45lbs.... thing is that after the set when i jump off i get like a quick sharp pain in my collar bone area, not sure what this is, and wonder if it's normal after dips.... it doesnt persist, just right after getting off like a bad stretch or something

Do you push off with your arms when you jump off? That's the only thing I could think of, but dips does put a lot of stress on your shoulders and around your collar bone so if you ever have broke it or anything that could be your problem. But it's not a normal thing, the only thing I feel after dips is a huge pump in my lower chest! :P
