i would like to lose some last stubborn fat and get rid of this CONSTANT BLOAT that i get from all sorts of things, including carbs. ive never felt so good except on keto.

my goal weight was 125-130 with 15% bf and i was able to get down to 130 for a good while. as soon as i went back to my diet i am now back between 135-140 and bloated ALL the time. im very swollen everywhere and i know that is part of the increase in my weight because i still watch my calorie intake and exercise

so i would like to get back into keto however, i have IBS-C and need fiber in my diet to regulate my digestive system, more than the average person needs. i probably need between 35-50g fiber a day to work with my system. my question is, how is this possible to achieve on a keto diet? i tried psyllium but that also made me bloat and didn't help with regulation. any suggestions?

anyone here wil food sensitivities/intolerances that still follow keto?

any advice would be great thanks!

I made the decision that the best part of going out on date night with my hubby was not the food...but feeling good about myself and feeling pretty while sitting across from him. I finally realized this is the way it's going to be...and I just can't eat carbs like a normal person.

I eat a ton of lettuce and a ton of spinach. I also drink mineral oil every 10 days or so and it....ummmm....clears up any plumbing problems.

THANKS! for the reply, i have actually been on this thread before, the ladies are always so nice.

just a question, when you say a ton, how much do you really mean? and you count the veggies-fiber towards your carb intake no?

im def gonna change things up this time around to see if i get better more consistent results

eliminating nuts, artificial sweeteners, and processed foods

gonna try to keep it simple: meats, full fat dairy, eggs, whey after workout (WHEY+WATER = no added carbs), oils, and green veggies

p.s might want to alter my cals this time around, possible zig-zag. how much you recommend for me?

Don't slam me keto vets....I eat as many bags of lettuce or spinach or broccoli as I feel like without counting the calories or carbs. My hubby buys me industrial size bags of stuff at Sam's Club/Bj's and I throw protein and fat on top of it. The key to this is the whole food thing.

It's good. They are almost free foods. Almost.

If you can eat enough leaves to gain some weight, well, more power to ya.

No worries girl! You didn't offend anybody! I just give my own opinion on things and I have my own theories on what will work. I was certain there would be somebody who would be troubled by me suggesting not to count all cals. :-P

you know what, after reading you can really see that althouh this diet does need to be followed correctly, you can see how many carbs people need to o into ketosis, some eat trace calories from carbs and some people can eat 50g carbs per day and be in ketosis, ill just have to test for myself, but i def like your idea of copious amounts of veggies yum

thanks a bunch for the replies, looking forward to letting everyone know how this goes for me, probably will go back on this diet in around 5 days when my mom leaves for italy to visit my grandparents, this way its much easier for me to avoid her delicious food, although i will miss it on my carb ups

Looking for a change....Could CKD be the answer?

Hello Ladies!

So I've just spent the last couple of days reading through 7 YEARS of posts on the Step by Step Keto thread -- after several pages it got pretty redundant but I have some OCD tendencies and was convinced if I stopped reading I would miss something, lol. Anyways, I then happened upon this Keto Ladies thread -- YAY!

I feel like I need to change something up. I've always been pretty active and really health conscious but only started lifting hard and heavy about 6 months ago. Diet-wise I first just switched to super clean with scheduled cheats and then decided to give carb-cycling a try. Progress was happening quite nicely but I wanted to get bigger. Decided to try a bulk but on a carb cycle -- WHOA! what a disaster. I love my carbs, but clearly my body does not. Packed on a solid 11 lbs of serious bloat, some fat, and (I think...hope!) some muscle in a little over a month . Scaled my total cals back for a month now to what I was eating before the "bulk", but kept the carb-cycle.

Here's the problem. Bulking bloat went away but I'm not as lean as I was before. I'm finding it VERY difficult to not go over my daily cals on days I have carbs (I weigh everything and choose all the "right" foods). My best looking (physically and my macros/cals) are on my no-carb days, which is what led me to CKD.

My main goal is to build more muscle and secondly to clean up a bit of this leftover "squish" I NEED to grow on this diet though. Think it's the one? I was almost convinced to give it a shot starting Monday (getting measured up today) and then I got to the end of this thread and it looks like people are dropping out! Eeep!

Think CKD is my answer? I know you are all going to say 'yes' b/c it's the Keto forum, lol. I guess I'm looking for more LADIES who are also looking to add significant muscle mass and are doing it successfully on ckd. I know Jaim91 bulked on keto, but is there anyone else?

Thanks ladies!

Madeline,

How do you get your legs like that (with so much muscle tone) yet still keep all your womanly curves? I'm afraid that if I drop too much more bodyfat I'm going to stop looking feminine. This is my husband's biggest fear. I have two kids...so gravity has done a big number on me. I think I'm going to have to drop farther to get much more definition. Ack!

My husband is getting nervous about the way my back looks. Ack! Not womanly at all! I'm doing yoga, pilates and a 3X a week HIIT class with weights. That's about it at the moment!

hmmm...well thats tricky. see my hubs is into bodybuilding as well, so he tends to like a manly woman. haha! well, you know what i mean. and i feel like my back is way burly. im starting to find that various shirts are sort of "ill fitting" due to the vastness of my back

i hear pilates is killer, we dont really have that here good for fat burning?

Welcome.

Have you calculated your BMR and daily calories needed? Did you calculate what calories your sample menu added up to? Do you know your weight in pounds? :-P

Thanks for your response, according to fitday, I need to consume about 1900 p/d and my sample diet is about 1500 cals. I weigh 117 pounds and my goal is to loose 7 pounds in 8 weeks. Does the diet look OK? I started yesterday and love the food, don't feel hungry at all. Any further suggestions are welcome

Thanks
Miks
