Guess I am considered a fat*** for shooting for 250.

6'6" 250 is completely reasonable. Thats the weight I am shooting for. While deployed I got down to 14% 260 so 250 would be 12-13%. Thats pretty decent. Add a little muscle and 270 would be reasonable as well.

Yeah but even the BMI chart (The charts I only use for ballpark figures) allows for 1 inch in shoe height, if I am not mistaken. Basketball players even measure themselves often in shoes (There is no rule that have to measure with shoes off, and many of them have been known to exaggerate heights and inch or two anyway, being that they play with their shoes on, I don't really see why it's so terrible to measure with shoes on, as most people in everyday life see us with our shoes on.) Just because some (or even most) measure with shoes off in here doesn't mean all do.

I say measure it however you see fit!! As long as you are not measuring your height with boots or high heels on, I can't see it make that big of a difference.

Ok i went through this whole thread... Big thumbs up to everyone that stuck with it and changed their lives! I think its my turn to post some before and afters.
I've always been the biggest guy in my group of friends since i was a kid. I finally got tired of it last year and bought a scale in march '08 and was shocked as hell to see I weighed 315lbs at 6'1". I started watching what i ate, cut out junk food and soda and got down to around 300 by the end of may '08. I started going to the gym in june '08 and did tons of cardio and the weight just started to melt off. As of today i weight 227lbs. Went from a 3-4x shirt to 1-2x, 48 jeans to 38. Feels great to be able to walk into pretty much any store and find something in my size. I really regret, but must admit i barely did any weight training ... I just started strong lifts 5x5 sunday so we'll see how that goes. I'll hopefully have some more pics in a couple of months.
cliffs:
25 years old 6'1"
315-227lbs in about 17 months (a lot of slacking in between)
3-4x shirt to 1-2x
48 jeans to 38

I finally got the courage to take a picture of myself in my self indulged glory and can say that going over all the threads have really motivated me at the gym to get that extra rep in while trying to lose weight. All I can say that its never to late, I am probably older and tinkered with lifting weights and then got off and still ate like I lifted and the pounds poured on and mother nature is not to forgiving. But you need a spark and this thread has really got me going.
I have been doing KETO for 3 weeks and have gone down from original 324.6 lbs when started and decided to make a change to the most recent pics that have me at 306.6 lbs. I actually weighed myself twice just to make sure it wasnt defected..lol
As someone mentioned it took time to put it on and will take time to take it off, are you willing to sacrifice ? As we peel that layer everyday you will see the changes and you feel like walking on clouds when someone you have seen in a while notices a smaller you !!
I just hope my dilemma that will be cured and corrected can inspire more people to try.
Good luck to all !!
