Red face Can you suggest some good back excercises other than deadlifts?

I want to strengthen my back, so that i can make my posture better. But, I dont really want to go the route of deadlifts just yet, cuz i just had major surgery on my back last year, and I dont want to pressure it too much. So I want to find some other equally good excercises to strengthen my back.

For lower back, hyperextensions and good mornings are effective.

like he said, those are my 2 favorite lower lumbar workouts.

also, bent over barbell row, pullups, wide bar seated rows.

i also like to do behind the back barbell shrugs on my back day cause it hits the rhomboids as well as the traps.

if you dont feel good enuf to do bb rows i would do supported exercises like seated low-pulley rows, or db rows (you can use your arms for added support), back extensions with handheld plate, etc. machines offer added support but slowly get back to free wts.

also, keep those abs strong and continue squats and sldl's.
