Ok, so FILF decided he wanted to do chest today (insert dejected face here), so I texted my client whom I was supposed to train at the park today (but couldn't because it was raining), and told her she was going to train legs with me. Her text reply, "I'm scared...and feel sick. Ok. See you soon." - Wow awesome.

UPDATE: I was literally JUST fired from my job for training WITH my ex-client. The grounds: My gym can't trust me anymore. They don't know if I'm training under the table, or training WITH someone, and they can't trust my word. So no job AND I've lost my membership priviledges.

Wow. Uh...Banner day.

Legs

- Highest weight only

Horizontal Leg press
  • 312.5 (the stack) x 8 PR weight!!

Smith Machine Squat (with feet far out in front)
  • 140 x 10

Hack Squat Partials
  • 410 x 20 PR weight!!

1-legged Horizontal leg press
  • 125/leg x 10

Leg Extension
  • 205 x 15 PR reps!!

Dumbbell deadlift
  • 40 x 12

Post workout cardio: None. Hiit...somewhere...another gym...tonight...

Sounds like who ever was running the show there was just an overly suspicious punk. Would love to see the look on their face when they start seeing your pic on workout mags and your name attached to successful workout books. What a moron!

That gym is a worse place without you.

WHAT!? That's rediculous. The people at your gym should have come to you and talked before just going and firing you. Horrible. Are you going to look for a job at another gym or just wait it out til you move to FLA?
I feel bad for your clients. It's not fair of the gym to do that to them either. They are losing a great trainer.

When you say you've lost your membership priviledges, you just mean training there for free right? Like you can still train there but just have to pay the membership? It's absolutely stupid if you cant train there at all.

ps.... Don't change your movie plans based on our list!!!!! There will always be stuff on our list for viewing an discussion!

Guys, thank you all SO MUCH for your support...you've always been there for me, and are so supportive. I don't know what I'd do without you.

I don't harbor hate towards the gym...they did what they felt that had to do...unfortunately, it cut me real deep, but they run a business....and I was losing them money.

But with me...it's not about the money. I probably have as much in my account as the average post-grad college student, and I was only making $20/hour at my job, but the point is, I can't not train people. I cried when I was told not because I was getting fired, but because I ACTUALLY don't know what to do with myself if I'm not training people. It's all I'm qualified to do, but more importantly, it's all I WANT TO DO. I don't even care about the pay (clearly, because $20/hour for someone with a Kinesiology degree isn't a lot), it was more just being able to help people through training. 7am clients gave me a reason to wake up in the morning.

So that's why this whole thing upset me. Not because I've never lost a job before, but because nobody's ever told me, "Jaime, you're not allowed to do something you love"....

I feel bad for your clients. It's not fair of the gym to do that to them either. They are losing a great trainer.

When you say you've lost your membership priviledges, you just mean training there for free right? Like you can still train there but just have to pay the membership? It's absolutely stupid if you cant train there at all.

*Hugs*

Great workout though! Lots of PR's
Nah, no other job before FLA. I can't afford to get attached to more clients when I only have 6 weeks left here. I just want to try and enjoy the rest of my summer...we'll see what happens.

Thanks for the hugs J...they do help...

The mere idea of not getting to do a job you are passionate about is enough to make me go postal...and having threats of having that happen in the past, I know what that feels like so I feel your pain. You handle it with far more grace than I do/did....so when the opportunity for something bigger and better comes along you will be more than ready and beyond worthy of it.

As usual, very proud of you. Never roadblocks.....just stepping stones.

I'm sorry to hear about the news Jaime. But from the sounds of it you have a wrongful dismissal on your hands. How long have you been with them?

Chin up, there will be plenty more opportunities in store for you. This was not the last place you were going to work for anyway.

I'm so sorry!! Gah. What a bunch of @$$'s. I do love how you responded to it though. Sadly, if I were fired for my job I would ONLY be sad because of the money loss. Then I'd pick up and go into training clients

So... can you train elsewhere? Or is there a gym that will allow you to bring in your own clients for a fee? This could be an oppertunity to get more clients outside of the gym regulations AND make more money - which is just an added bonus.

Either way, I know you'll be fine. You love what you do, and when that's the case the ONLY option is success.

You rock... and so do your leg extensions. HOLY CRAP WOMAN!

the flip side Jaime...if a business or company becomes that worked up about a small situation like that...it's probably in your best interest to get as far away from that situation as possible...you have your education, which they can't take from you, and you have vast knowledge of both exercise and nutrition...take that and put it to work...if they don't want you anymore, with your qualifications and fantastic social skills, somebody else does, i promise you that...you are too talented to stay jobless...best of luck

Well, the verdict is out...I just had a nice long chat with Jaime over the phone. Few of you may know me, but I am a member at the POS (piece of ****) gym Jaime was thrown out from this morning. I just want to address a few things.

1) I am nearly certain Jaime is the only true qualified personal trainer at this gym. Unless sticking a needle in your ass and calling yourself a BBer, classifies you as a CSEP CPT, then Jaime is the only one there who should be coming near clients

2) For them to revoke her membership and employment status on a hunch, is just a FUKING joke. You hear that ALFREDO, I hope you read this you dirt bag.

3) The manager and GM of this gym would be more useful placing himself on a shelf and selling himself as gourmet PASTA (ALFREDO, he really is USELESS)

4) I have seen the way other trainers there train clients. They have 0 control of their body movements, have no awareness of muscle, and simply dont know how to train themselves...I guess that is the trait that Alfredo looks for in trainers...

In the end, it may look like Jaime is missing out and losing on this deal, but it is adrenalin fitness that is on its way down the poop shoot.

I have said it once, and I will say it again, come time to invest in something and my degree is done, I will put an offer to buy out adrenalin. Its facility is actually quite spacious, but hasnt been renovated since WWII. In any event..JAIME SEE THIS LOUD AND CLEAR...WE WILL SOMEDAY OWN AND OPERATE ADRENALIN FITNESS, AND ALFREDO IS IN CHARGE OF FLOOR MOPPING, AND NONE OF THIS 3PM BULL CRAP...HI SHIFT IS FROM MIDNIGHT-8AM, WAIT TO SEE THE LOOK ON HIS WIFES FACE!!!...DONE AND DONE!!! SO JAIME...YOU WITH ME!.!.!

So jaime...you with me!.!.!
yeah buddy!!

Ok, so within 2 hours of my last wittle meltdown (I wasn't ACTUALLY crying...just..er...had something in my eye, you know ), I was on my bike, scoping out my area for reasonably priced (read: SUPER CHEAP!!!) gyms. I found one...a woman's only 7 minutes walking distance from my house...

There's no squat rack, 1 smith machine, NO 45lb plates, and more machines than I've seen in my life. I took a deep breath, swallowed my pride, and gave them my credit card...I just have to remember that it's ONLY for 6 weeks *takes a REALLY REALLY deep breath* (NO 45LB PLATES?! WTF?!)

Today = Arms and shoulders...which is my favorite day. So we'll see how the new gym fares...Maybe I'll take some vids to see what their policy is on that.

Motivation of the Day:
My friend Roni and I become OBSESSED with her Youtube videos when we were prepping for our last Nov comp. Linda Fodor...check them out...(she looked better in the vids than the pic)

What I'm reading: http://conditioningresearch.blogspot...p-pushups.html - If you don't think I'm going to try these....

As usual, very proud of you. Never roadblocks.....just stepping stones.
Thank you for the empathy...as for going postal...don't think that this wasn't an instance where I WISH I couldn't laced into the GM. G-d...I wasn't even trying to hold back. I've been working for 9 months, but a member for 5 years.

I hope so ROb, I really do....

So... can you train elsewhere? Or is there a gym that will allow you to bring in your own clients for a fee? This could be an oppertunity to get more clients outside of the gym regulations AND make more money - which is just an added bonus.

Either way, I know you'll be fine. You love what you do, and when that's the case the ONLY option is success.

You rock... and so do your leg extensions. HOLY CRAP WOMAN!
I could train elsewhere, but I think I want to take it easy for a bit before I get to FLA. It's hard to start training clients, only to pick up and leave them 6 weeks later. I don't want to break the trust.

Thank you for the reassurance!

You are so right Jer...it's definitely not an environment I should've been in that long. Thank you for your insight...I just hope I get the right job for me...

1) I am nearly certain Jaime is the only true qualified personal trainer at this gym. Unless sticking a needle in your ass and calling yourself a BBer, classifies you as a CSEP CPT, then Jaime is the only one there who should be coming near clients

Glad you found a new home...

Great leg work yesterday!

As for the job... Their loss in my opinion for the fact of where you said its what YOU WANT TO DO! They will be hard pressed to find someone with that passion, but you will find somewhere else to traing people. Most likely that is a better fit for you too. So you win in the long run, just have to get to the long run now lol. I'm in the same boat with the company I'm interning with this summer. I have found what I want and LOVE to do. Now I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a job offer. I've busted my a$$ and completed everything they have given me to do so I'm hoping it pays off.

Things to look forward to:
1) Today is a whole new day. You never know when that great opportunity will come along....maybe today is that day.
2) A fantastic conversation at about 740ish this evening. Do your homework.
3) probably some randomness involving the Price is Right or other great game shows of the 80s, 90s.
