Skinny Bitch, sabatoshing womens weight lost

So last night my ex girlfriend was babysitting for a family friend. She herself has gone through great struggle to lose weight, partially because when the weekend comes, she cancels out her results by drinking a lot and eating tacobell. (Part of the reason we broke up was because she was unhappy with her body, while I can drop weight like its my job) So she picks up this book called "Skinny bitch" that was on the moms counter for whom she was baby sitting.

After she was reading it for about 15 minutes, skipping through chapters, she calls me to tell me about it. And well its **** like this that just completely misinform so many people it honestly sickens me.

First of all, its a pro vegan diet book, not just pro vegan, ultra vegan, and anti anything that comes from an animal.

-Milk farmers are just out to make money, greedy bastards. Milk has also apparently been linked to causing cancer.

-Farmers are all greedy, and out to become super rich. (Yeah farmers aren't rich, at least 95% of them, they work their asses off).

-DON"T look at calories. If it has less then 4 wholesome ingredients, then just eat it. I guess brown wild rice is a good example. Just eat all you want, anytime, won't matter. Guess the calorie in, calorie out method I've been using isn't right.

-15-60 Grams of protein a day is all that you need, anymore is a waste. It suggest soy protein, which I believe is only 60% as bio active as a while egg, and like 30% as whey isolate.

- No joke on this "have you ever heard of anyone suffering from a protein deficiency?". Yes I ****ing have, its called poor countries. Even when they have a positive calorie surplus, its all carbs, that is why you see skeleton people with a fat gut. That is why Americans are taller then a lot of the world. Misinformation at its finest.

-Talks about how eggs are horrible for you, and raise your cholesterol levels(i thought they raised your good cholesterol?)

-Do cardio, but its not that important. Its important you only eat wholesome things. As much as you want of them. Oh and weight lifting only matters if you feel "frisky".

-A whole lot about animal cruelty.

-A whole lot about how anything animal related causes cancer(but what doesn't).

-It straight up said, that "unless you stop eating the corpse, you will never lose weight".

Its garbage like this that confuses a lot of people, and its no surprise that like 30% of Americans are obese. I just love peoples logic, and how they can justify lying to promote an ideology and lifestyle, and confuse people who are just trying to get healthier. Telling them that you can't do something, because of animal products, that a straight out lie.

"Man eats bigs macs everyday and is fat, he stops eating big macs, and starts eating soy burgers and starts losing weight. Logic tells me, that must mean that ground meat makes you fat, and non animal products make you skinny. Duh!"

Here is my diet, and it hasn't failed me let. Lift and do cardio at least 3 times a week, eat at least 500 less calories a day then you need for maintenance. Over time you will reach your goal.....no how do I fatten that out into a book...

This is probably my favorite argument because it makes no sense. Of course milk farmers are out to make money, it's their LIVELIHOODS! That would be like somebody telling me that writing software is bad because I'm only out to make money. No s**t?

I don't even know how to counter this argument. It's like when you hear something so dumb you blank out.

15g. That would be 60 calories. Where do the rest of the calories come from?

I think I remember someone telling me once that I should eat only 1500 calories. This didn't bother me too much because I felt like the guy was just misinformed. Then he proceded to tell me that I shouldn't eat more than 50g of protein (oh noes the kidneyz), and that carbs and fats are no good either. Um. Where the hell am I supposed to get 1500 calories from then if you just literally eliminated every source of food?

Strong argument here.

This reminds me of the movie Supersize Me. I and all of my friends saw that movie (separately), and it always led to the same result: "Man, I'm hungry. I think I'll go to McDonalds." You should go over to her house with a big bucket of Popeye's Chicken.

A crazy fitness chick at my office (does boxing, P90x and crossfit) read the book and claimed to be converted. A week later she laughed and said it was too extreme for her and she was back to eating steaks and chicken again.

Even the ex didn't fall for the **** in that book, and that's saying a lot. She thinks pretty much everything is "bad" for you. "That oatmeal bar is bad for you, it has 13 grams of sugar".....oh and 10 grams of fiber, some protein, lots of vitamins, and its yummy....but that is another issue relating to dieting idiots....

I pretty much believe anytime anyone is dealing telling you a complete "absolute", then they are lying to you, "you can't lose weight and eat meat".

99.9% of the articles on this site have in them something about "listening to your own body", if you don't see results, then change it up, "this is my routine, it works for me, maybe not you".

According to the Skinny Bitches, not only will eating meat and dairy prevent you from losing weight and/or kill you, so will coffee (and pretty much anything that isn't an organic vegetable).

Only God knows what I would do if I had to choose between coffee or death...

I remeber glancing through my mother's copy about a year ago and I remember reading something along these lines - "continue to eat dairy and you will be a fat disgusting pig for the rest of your life"

That's when I put it down

Sounds like the book delivers what it promises. I know if I was on that diet, I'd be both skinny AND a bitch because I'd be so freakin hungry and I couldn't even have coffee. No thanks.

oh God, I heard my girlfriend talking about the Skinny Bitch Cookbook and how she really really wanted it...

I'm going to have to make it my project to teach her the ways of proper nutrition and exercise..

I was vegan for nearly a year and overweight. At first it gave me more energy and made me feel..."cleaner" I guess, but then f'ed up my blood sugar levels because I was eating carbs constantly. I eventually became aware of a whole load of intolerances my body has, gluten, lactose, and thought what the heck, I can't eat anything, may as well have some meat. Next thing I knew my crazy up and down energy levels vanished (I think I was making myself more and more insulin resistant) and I find it so much easier to lose weight- even with my vegan friends still preaching to me about all the meat taking weeks to digest in my colon. The ironic part about it, since I started eating lactose free whey, chicken and fish, my metabolism has kicked into high gear.

I have seen lots of skinny vegans...but I really think it depends on your body and where your starting point is.

I can't believe people buy in to crap like that book. Why not just learn how to fix your diet the normal way? The authors are probably raking in the dough off of that book too.

Haha, I'm a farmer and thats ****in hilarious. I am greedy, but I only raise beef cows, easier to get done with, sadly.

Honestly, if a girl wants to get skinny and be a bitch, I'd reccommend this.

Its just amazing the contradictions in the book. Farmers who raise animals are greedy and lie to you even though their product kills you. "Milk does a body good" is of course lobbying to convince people to drink milk, even though it causes cancer.

....but I assume farmers who raise organic crops aren't out to make money, they want everyone to be healthy. Because everyone can afford to pay twice as much for organic....

*Really nothing against organic farming, I know its good for you. But frankly I'll take some chemicals, and genetic engineering and live with more money in my wallet. Not to mention I love GIANT apples.
