Thank you Ed for letting us follow you these past few years. We understand that the 2009 NPC Masters Nationals was both a celebration of your efforts and physique and a disappointment to which some of us can relate. You sir brought to Pittsburg THE most marketable Masters physique. One which both the Bodybuilding world and Mr. and Mrs. Average Joe can appreciate. Bob Paris, Frank Zane, Flex Wheeler asthetics. I personaly urge you to pursue and market your God given gift.
I have followed Ed here in the O35s the past few years as most of you have. I also have a slightly better insite to this very private man. He has overcome quite a bit more than he has revealed on this Board in his march to physical perfection. And I am sure there is a ton more that I do not know. His zeal and love for all things Bodybuilding infected me and became a part of my re invention. I know he has done the same for a lot of you. He kept his family, faith and career all in perspective and harmonious balance. As I struggle to do that all I need to do is remember Old Superman.

When I read his last message, I got the feeling that they were the words of a man who was hugely disappointed, perhaps to the point of being crushed, over the results of the recent comp. I could, of course, be wrong, but that was how it struck me...

While Ed may have been dissapointed with his placing I'm sure he will be the first to tell you that anyone thinking of competing should first have personal goals to try to achieve and work on attaining them above all else. How high you place is icing on the cake. YOU first have to reach the goals that you place before you. I believe Ed achieved his goals and with that he can be very proud of that.
Ed is a great inspiration to many people because of his discipline and positive outlook. While I know nothing of his past I believe I can predict his future...
