guess abit of water gain wont feel half as bad as not being able to build the muscle i want because i cant lift as heavy as i should. did you have similar issues when you began keto?
i have enough energy for cardio, but don't want to be 'skinny-fat'!

I follow Lyle's recommendations regarding training. I train on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. That's all i have time for right now. Because Monday and Tuesday are the first and only workout (till depletion w/o) on my muscles, i don't feel weak till the depletion workout and those are brutal.
I've already upped some of the weight i lift. You may just need to give your body time to adjust or you've depleted your glycogen already.
Don't stress. Give yourself a couple of weeks to adjust.

Hey it's carb up day for me!!!!!!
hey yall! TODAY IS MY CARB UP!!!! and this time i have been much smarter. Let me tell ya.....i carbed up 2 weeks ago and because i didn't care what i was putting in my mouth (ya carbaholic) i actually gained fat!!!!!!!!! I got it back under control these last 2 weeks, but seriously i learned my lesson why to keep fat low....i definitely did my carb up like a man. Uh sucks for us women. So today I had a keto breakfast, went for my depletion workout, had some whey protein and then I went for some organic brown rice sushi and had one of those mint chocolate skinny cow ice cream sandwiches.(both had almost no fat) feeling good and i plan on having a little whole grain pasta and chicken for dinner. I'm trying to keep it around 150-200g of carbs and back to keto in the morning. Hopefully this carb up will speed up my progress a little. I've been on keto for 4 weeks to this day and have lost 4 lbs maybe....and thats including water weight.....have a great friday everyone!!!!!!

I hate to say this, but i don't keep track on my carb ups. I just eat the carbs i like. Including sugar.
I only carb up for 36hrs but i usually can't eat very much because i've been eating small meals all week, my stomach won't take much.

I carb up for 48 hours and have been known to pack away around 300+ carbs each day, so over 600 during the course of the carb up. My fat intake is relatively "high" on those days also (~40% - yummy alfredo sauce). As long as progress is being made in the gym, I'm a happy girl.

I have a quick question:
Somedays i do cardio after weights....is it beneficial to drink my whey right after weights and go ahead and do the cardio?
I tried it once and I had no stomach issues or anything. Drank it in like 2 mins....

My carb up after induction phase of anabolic...
I started carbing up last night with a cheat meal, better fats today. I'll keep the protein low, while increasing the carbs and also maintaining a higher fat percentage. I gained two pounds of water overnight from my cheat meal! But my total weight loss for the last two weeks is three pounds, so I'm a happy lady. I'll be eating some protein pancakes for breakfast....Yum!

I don't think it matters either way as long as your stomach is ok during the cardio.

I'll fix that.
Take a look at my last post on my keto log. I've got some funny pics attached from yesterday's bachelorette party.

Hey girls...where is everybody? I'm getting ready to do something drastic...either diet or exercise and I haven't made up my mind yet what to do. I have been half a$$ing this whole thing for the past few weeks. Crap.

I am totally with u red! I have been working my butt off, but I feel like I need to get even more HARDCORE and i think the dieting is gonna come first. That's it... I've decided to make a meal plan that hits my macros exactly and follow it to a T until I get where I need to be. It might suck, but honestly i would EAT CARDBOARD if it would help me get a superhero body

Also....has anyone tried Jay Robb's protein powders....they r supposed to be pretty good and carbs is only 1g per scoop. I have maybe another days worth of protein powder and to be quite honest....my protein powder + water makes me want to gag, so i chug it in less than 10 seconds and then a whole bottle of water. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Tee hee. But I am not working my butt off. I have been coasting. I just got back from my vacation where I ate like a truck driver and I have been pi$$ing around ever since. My prob is...in clothes I look pretty good if I do say so myself...well at least for an old fart! I don't think I can do anything to my body that is going to make a HUGE difference in the way I look clothed. Because nobody besides my husband is seeing me naked...and I'm not prancing around on stage in a thong...I am trying to find some motivation to drop fat or increase muscle. I think I really need to dig deep and find the motivation to get the job done. It is so easy to just say screw it all...pass the damn Doritos! But I will trudge on ladies!!

I'm still around. In Ohio taking a week off from AD and lifting. Had fun at the pool yesterday. Trying to figure out what I want to do with diet and exercise next month. Haven't decided whether I'm sticking to the AD or switching to the Metabolic Diet, which isn't really a keto diet.

I drink Atkins Advantage shakes. One carb and like 20 grams of protein. They rock. Plus it's like eating a bowl of Total. It is packed with everything....including lots of crap. So...if you don't mind the extra crap like Splenda...then give it a go. BTW...I don't eat any of the Atkins bars because of the glycerine.

I drink Slim Fast Low Carb. It has 2 g net carbs and 2 g of fiber with 20 g of protein. I can't do the protein powder in water, has to be milk which obviously doesn't work well with keto.

Sophie,
If you get a chance could you PM me or publicly let me know what weight you are lifting? I'm trying to set some goals and you seem like the girl "in the know."

What weight I'm lifting for what exercise? Here's just a few
BB Curls - blank bar (45 lbs) for 8 reps for 3 sets
SLDL - 170 lbs for 5 reps for 3 sets
Full Squat - 65 lbs for 5 reps for 3 sets
BB Bench Press - 65 lbs for 8 reps for 3 sets
Good Mornings - 85 lbs for 9 reps for 3 sets
BB Standing Military Press - 45 lbs for 6 reps for 3 sets
Squat and Bench suck because I don't do them consistently. My ganglion cyst hurts doing bench press so I've lightened the weight (though it still hurts) and I just don't like squats LOL. A lot of the machines I'm using don't have weight on them, just plate numbers, which really sucks .
I should really go to bed now. It's past 2 am.

Hey Everybody,
I know I have been wanting to try something different too. I have been at a standstill for so long now that I know I am going to have to dig deeper and get my "groove" back. I am eating at a maintenance level and exercising is at a less than a moderate pace. I am going to have to look back and remember how I was doing this before.

I just eat what I want and try to keep it higher carb. I usually end up about 45-40-15 (c-f-p) but not quite.
