I had a really bad day in the gym.
So as usual, monday hit the gym at lunchtime to work the chest mainly. Feeling pretty fired up having slept well, eaten a good meal in the morning for fueling my workout, etc. and the first thing I noticed when I walked into the gym was that it was extremely humid/muggy/suffocating because of the crazily good weather we had today. Not cool.
I struggled through my workout. I seemed to be weak. For the past two weeks I had benched a fairly heavy weight at 4 sets of 6 no problem. This week I benched it 6,5,5,3. Felt so weak.
What I want to know is... is this normal? Is it normal to struggle when your gym is in such an energy sapping way? Will my training be knocked back a lot by the one bad sesh?
Sorry if I sound like a noob but I am fairly new to the whole bodybuilding thing.
Cheers, JoshyBoy

time to take a day off, eat more, or you are not getting enough sleep

I had a bad workout today also. I ate a good breakfast, an omellette and a banana with some milk, and got my 9 hours of sleep. I just couldn't finish my last set, the weather was so nice outside and I really wanted to go play basketball with my friends but I knew I needed to work out so I took my hour and a half and did my workout, but as said I wasn't as intense as I usually am.
Just let it go though, everyone has bad days, and think about it next time you go in and work that much harder.
Good luck man and sorry you didn't have a great workout.

Bad sessions happen every not and again, it's just life.
If it happens again next time (unlikely) start changing some of your liftstyle such as eating, drinking, sleeping.
But it likely its just a blip where you had low energy.

I hadn't been in the gym since wednesday so it can't be over training. I only go like three times a week to do weights. Probably just a blip. I'm sure I'm sleeping ok. Thanks for all the feedback!
