What to eat in the morning right before workout?
I'll be a freshmen in college this Fall, and due to the crazy studying I'll be doing (GaTech) I wanted to fit my workout in the early monring before everything. I plan to get up at around 6, walk over to the dining hall (right across the street =]) and eat a bannana,my whey shake, and a glass of orange juice. Then go workout from about 6:30 to 7:30, take shower and get ready, go eat breakfast, and then get to class by 9. Is my morning meal enough for that hour workout?

It all depends on how much you can stomach and how much time you have before you workout. If I don't have enough carbs my workout goes to ****...you could add a bowl of cereal in there if you want.

have a scoop of whey and microwave a cup of oats (or blend with whey) and you have the perfect pre-workout meal

x2 for me.
If I train in the morning I need a biiiiiig meal to jump start my day plus the training!I can not wake up and just eat a banana, whey and some OJ, but that's me.You need to experiment and determine your (carb) needs.

sounds like a good meal for just waking up, i can't stomach too much food before a morning workout and whey is pretty much ideal for getting the protein absorbed in your system after a long night sleep as well as not being heavy. I'd save the oatmeal for after the workout since its dense. Definately keep the banana, great fruit for pre or post workout

obviously it is best if you can get something in ya but if you find that you can't stomach lifting so soon after eating/drinking those just eat a big meal before going to bed and lift upon waking, regardless of how you do it props to you for attempting it, I for one cannot work out in the morning

I think that if you don't eat enough carbs to start your day, some part of the whey you're taking is going to be used for energy instead.
