No new logs sadly. I plan to do one on Mesomorph as soon as i get it, maybe in a week or 2. The family is doing great, the wife and i dropped some bad habbits and got back in to Church. I missed being a good guy! lol

I'm planning on doing gastro bypass surgery. I tried losing weight on my own for over a year and it only helped a little. I need to take some drastic changes and since my health insurance is paying 90% of it, I'm taking the plunge, LOL. I will be talking to the surgeon next week to review my options again.

I still need to exercise and eat healthy because that was part of the plan anyway. But after the surgery, my eating habits will be very strict and I still need to work out. I'm prepping myself before surgery so it won't be as hard after wards. I should drop weight like crazy. My co-worked who did it 3 months ago lost 70lbs! She's doing great and looks fabulous! I can't wait for my turn. If I can lose 100lbs by Christmas, I will be one happy woman!

But in reality, I need to drop weight because of my medical conditions and I want to get pregnant in about 2-3 years time. That's my main goal. Who knows, I might compete after I have my baby.

I'm glad you and the family are doing well. Let me know when you start your new log.

Workout 1
Cardio on Treadclimber (after I woke up)
45 minutes @ 0.7 mph
Burned 353 calories

Workout 2
Cardio on Treadclimber (before bed)
30 minutes @ 0.8 mph
Burned 243 calories

Thoughts & Comments
Not bad. I burned 596 calories today.
I think I burned more calories today than I did last week combined. When I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes, I burned less than 200 calories each time. I walked 3 days so that's roughly 600 calories and I burned almost 600 calories today! Walking on the treadclimber vs treadmill gives me a better workout because it simulates walking on sand (and that's tough!). I also sweat more when I use the treadclimber.

When I went to the Olympia last year, I spoke with a female pro-figure/fitness competitor and she told me that it will make a huge difference if I do cardio after I woke up and before I went to bed. If I did it after I wake up, it will burn my fat deposits since my tummy will be empty. If I do cardio before I go to bed, it will help keep my metabolism going while I'm sleeping = burn more fat.

So that's what I'm doing this week. I'm aiming to walk for 4 days instead of 3. My feet were killing me tonight so I only walked for 30 minutes. I hope to lose an inch by next Monday if this keeps up!

Not bad. I spent an extra 6 minutes so I can burn around 400 calories.
I was too tired in the evening to do a second workout. I did a lot of errands today which meant a lot of walking anyway. But I can feel the soreness in my legs since I haven't been stretching (my bad).

Wednesday ~ 01.21.09

Day Off

I can definitely feel some soreness in my legs. When I was moving around my bed last night, my inner thighs were feeling sore. Not to bad but enough to feel uncomfortable. I really need to incorporate some stretching starting tomorrow.

I wore one of my favorite blouses today. When I gained some of my weight back, my tummy pudge was prominent. Now, I noticed that my tummy shrunk a little bit. I wanted to take some measurements but I will wait for next Monday so that I have a nice surprise to start my week.

The changes have been good and its only been 2 weeks. I'm slowly tightening up my eating habits (I ate A LOT of salad for dinner and I enjoyed it, LOL!). Can't wait to see more pudge melt away.

I haven't been feeling well plus the soreness in my legs and feet were uncomfortable.

My Husband has also been very sick. I've been taking care of him but his sickness is rubbing off on my again.

But at least I did my work out earlier in the week.

Comments & Thoughts
That's pretty good after 2 weeks. I lost 6 lbs so far and that's just through cardio and eating better. I wished my waist shrunk a little but the number on the scale was good.

I achieved my goal of walking a minimum of 3x for 45 minutes on my Bowflex Treadmill. I also added an extra 6 minutes so I can burn more calories and did it at least 2x in one day. That's still pretty good for a start.

I started to feel sore and getting sick again.
The soreness wasn't bad but it was uncomfortable.
My Husband is very ill and his sickness is rubbing off me again (and I was getting well when it hit me again). This is sucks!

I'm still not feeling well this week. Even though I'm not working out, I've been watching what I have been eating. I started to eat a lot of salads and protein shakes. Still cheating on some junk food but not so bad. I'm not stuffing my face all the time but I do have a few cookies and a small bowl of ice cream here and there. During the holidays was really bad so this is huge change for me. But a good one.

This Week's Goal
1. Since I'm not feeling well, I will try to walk 20-30 minutes on the Treadclimber for 3 days.
2. Keep eating healthy foods and limit my sweet intake to 4 days (I've been doing it every day before and this week I dropped it to 5 days). Slow and steady and then I can drop it back to 2 days a week.
3. Replace my sweets with something healthier (protein bars, etc).

My doctor appointments for my bypass surgery has been post phoned for this Friday and all of the other appointments that I need to take has been scheduled for next month. I had hoped to get my surgery done within a month but apparently I have to redo a bunch of tests again. It's estimated that it might take about 3 months before I have my surgery.

Oh well, hopefully by then I have dropped at least 20 lbs and my body will be stronger. I will also be able to heal faster if I'm stronger by the time of the surgery.

Yeah, if I get some of weight down before surgery that will help me in the long run. I'm really bummed out it got pushed back but there's nothing I can do about it. I'm just glad I'll be able to do it this year.

Thumbs up Back On Track

Well, I fell off the wagon the last few months.
I'm not proud of it and gained a lot of my weight back.

I'm still waiting for my surgery date for my Gastro Bypass. It's almost been 8 months since I started this process and there was a lot of miscommunication so its been delayed this long.

I'm at the point where my clothes almost don't fit me again and I feel and look like a round beach ball. I'm always tired, my body aches, and I'm out of breath.

I was also not mentally prepared to come back to weight training.
Now I am, especially after the last few months I've been trying. Now I feel I'm ready to jump back in. Not sure how it happened but I'm glad my motivation came back.

I apologize to my friends. Sorry that I bailed for so long.
A lot has been going on in my life and I just fell off the wagon and wasn't ready to come until now.

I'm back on and ready to roll.
I hope to hear from some of you again.

Monday ~ 07.06.09

My goal for this week is slow and steady.
I want to use my Wii with my new "My Fitness Coach" game that I bought and start with light cardio.

I'm slowly going back to clean eating. It's gonna take awhile but I have to force myself because I will eating mush for a few weeks after the surgery.

Evening Workout
15 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.8 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

15 minutes Wii Workout with "My Fitness Coach" game.
This was mostly cardio and flexibility moves that are low impact.

Not a bad start. My feet were tired and swelled up. But I'm going to push through this no matter what.

15 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.8 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

15 minutes Wii Workout with "My Fitness Coach" game.
I did upper body with 2 lbs weights and cardio.

20 minutes Wii Sports - Tennis.
This was a good workout. All I needed was a small space and lots of room to move around my arms. I was getting wound up to much at the competition with the Wii that I had to calm down, LOL! I kept over extending my elbow and it was starting to hurt.

15 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.8 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Afternoon Workout
20 minutes cardio - walked around my office building during my afternoon break.
Regular pace, I did sweat and was a little tired afterwards.

I walked using my work shoes and my feet were a bit sore.
I will have to bring my 2nd pair of rubber shoes at work so I can walk more comfortably.

I really like using my Wii more. It's fun and very interactive. I have a decent workout which helps me sweat and all I need is a small area.

Day Off

This weeks recap:
I did really good after not working out for the last few months. I feel great, healthy and was able to sleep very well for most of the week.

I'm still not as strong as I used to be but I'm more focused. Using my Wii as part of my workouts was a blast because it doesn't feel like I'm working out. It was fun and I was sweating a lot.

I also ate a lot better this week. Not on point yet but I didn't eat junk everyday like have been doing the last few months. I was able to make my meals ahead of time which prevented me from eating junk and saving money at the same time.

Today I decided to plan my workouts this week by using Jennifer Nicole Lee's workout journal that she created. I added the exercises that I know that I can do without hurting my back and not too much pressure on my feet. I will be using 2lb dumbbells and my bowflex home gym to do a lot of the exercises.

I'm also going to start using the treadles on my bowflex treadclimber machine, which moves instead of laying flat. I will burn 2x the calories and it works great. If you don't know what a treadclimber is, go to bowflex.com and check it out.

I'm still trying to eat clean. I will be packing my lunch more often so it can be healthy and I can save money, especially in this recession.

1 hour 15 minute workout with stretching.
I was tired and my feet are sore but I felt good. I didn't push myself too hard because I know if I did, my legs would cramp. I didn't do a full motion, I stopped where my legs started to burn. The decreased in reps in each set really helped. I also increased my treadmill mph by 1 mph.

Evening Workout

30 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.9 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Dummbells
Side Shoulder Raises : 2x12, 2x10, 2x8
Front Shoulder Raises : 2x12, 2x10, 2x8
Shoulder Press : 2x12, 2x10, 2x8
Tricep Kickbacks : 2x12, 2x10, 2x8
Overhead Tricep Press : 2x12, 2x10, 2x8

Bowflex U2 Home Gym
Triceps Pushdown with Bar : 20x12, 20x10, 20x8

30 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.9 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Note
This was a good workout. Even though I only used 2lb DB's, my shoulder's were burning. I made sure that I focused on my shoulder's to lift my arm so that I can feel the burn. I had a bad habit in the past of using my arms to lift instead of my shoulder's for shoulder exercises. I knew this because I felt the burn in my biceps and forearms instead of my shoulder's.

I was actually really tired and my right foot is swollen. I planned on only doing cardio but I felt guilty if I didn't do my shoulder's tonight. Sometimes guilt can be a good motivator. I walked with a limp but completed my cardio. To make my workout feel faster, I watched t.v. and that took a lot of my boredom away. I usually listen to music to focus but tonight the t.v. helped me through my workout (it had my favorite show on )

Morning Workout

15 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.9 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Ab Crunches : 12, 10, 8

7.5 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.9 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Twists w/Bar : 12, 10, 8

7.5 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (0.9 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Alternate heel touchers : 12, 10, 8

15 minutes Cardio - Bowflex Treadclimer (1.1 mph, Level 0, flat treadles)

Stretched

I'm not feeling all that great today but I thought to do some cardio in hopes it would make me feel better. I did my Abs as well. I wasn't sure if I was able to do my 45 minute cardio because my right foot is still swollen so I decided to break it up. This helped me keep my heart rate up in between my Ab exercises.

Even though my foot was swollen, I was able to increase my mph on the treadmill by 2 mph (the last 15 minutes). It was going a little slow so I increased it. It helped but I was limping the rest of the time.

Overall, I did pretty good.
