Socialism has failed...period. It's already starting to show how bad of a failure it's going to be here Take a look at what's starting to happen in western Europe, with countries like Italy, Germany, and France leading the way. There are moves towards conservatism in these countries. Merkel has pushed for broad, across the board tax cuts in Germany to try to get things moving there.

Oh, just to add to my original point-

a 3rd reason for people to have voted for Obama was a movement of anti-incumbency, which is probably worse then being stupid enough to believe in his platform or trying to show people that you're not a racist. It just shows how little attention you actually pay to the process.

Like I stated before...voting for a candidate is a personal decision. The reasons for arriving at the decision can be complicated, simplistic, or a combination of both. It doesnt make them 'idiots, 'insane', or whatever derogatory name you want to come up with.

My relatives voted for Bush because he was anti-abortion. That was the single issue they voted on. I disagreed with their reason, but it doesnt make them stupid, insane, racist, or any derogatory name you can come up with to call your fellow american.

I served in somalia with men I would die for and to this day we are still close friends. We all have political beliefs that differ. Yet, the words: idiot, racist, stupid, etc are words that would never leave my mouth to describe them.
If that is what you think of those men in my former unit because they have different political viewpoints, then I gotta say bro...I dont have much respect for you.

I think I will just leave it at that.

If you voted for Obama, it's because you either-

- believe in the badly failed idea of socialism
- felt it was your PC duty to show everybody that you aren't a racist
- are BADLY uninformed
- didn't do you homework to check this guy out thoroughly

Any one of these, as far as I'm concerned, makes you a jacka$$.

you could be right, but it angers me so much to see how people were sucked in by this empty suit, when all along he told us what he would do if elected.

Palin would have made a better choice than Obama. IMO. At least she had some experience and does not try to be everything to everybody. She def is better informed than crazy Joe. That should have been the first indication that Obama was going to fail.

her approval rating amongst Republicans is 72% (Romney is at 56%, Huckaby is at 59%). Across the board, it's 48%. That's pretty good, especially given that what most people know about her is the slanted spin they've gotten from the media. I had some woman tell me a while back "I don't like her". When I asked why, no intelligible or coherent answer was given. She was conditioned to believe that Sarah Palin was any number of ridiculous things she's been made out to be.

That should tell you something too. If she's no threat, why the need to continue to attack her? Why the need to continue to paint her in as negative a light as possible? Why the need to continue to tear her down? Dennis Kucinich runs for president in ever election cycle, as does Ralph Nader. You don't hear conservative pundits ripping them constantly, do you?

In politics, you don't attack those who aren't a threat, you ignore them.

Depression did not occur in 1937, unless you are refering to FDR et al, which is the result of the college inteliegencia movement touting social engineering since 1910s and was highly popular in the '20s into the 30s as well. End result is what we have today.

P.S. My degree is in Political Science. I've read a lot about it and that includes theory as well as historic fast, but thank you for your concern about my education.

P.S.S. China DID fail in socialism, hence its market is Capitalistic while lacking free rights for people (personal wealth, property rights, etc) which can be attributed to isolation and a culture that is bascially unchanged for thousands of years. I won't even touch North Korea vs. South Korea which really shows a huge difference between political and social structures.

funniest example to me was Microsoft saying that if he went forward with his tax increases they'd be forced to offshore more of their business operations...AFTER SUPPORTING HIM!!! LMAO!

I guess we've gotten so jaded that we expect candidates to break their campaign promises once they're in office, it's actually a shock when one intends to keep them.
