Well last night at the gym, I decided to train in my string tank, the one you see me with in my AV 1) to see how I am coming along as I can feel myself growing and 2) to show off a little to my two sons
While doing skull crushers there were two guys behind me, regulars that I have been seeing in the gym on a regular. My son over heard one of them comment on how fast I was growing and the other replied something to the affect that I must be on something he didn't say the word but you know what he meant.
So me being me, I yelled out really loud "DAMN THESE F"CKING ROIDS ARE NOT WORKING, WHY THE F"CK DO I INJECT MYSELF SO MUCH!!!!"
My kids nearly fainted, they busted out laughing. Most in the gym looked at me like I was crazy, but the two guys, just slowly moved away from us

Funny stuff, its all too common for some to assume that Big/Muscular=Roids. I experienced that over a year ago. Personally, right now I'd rather be in the situation where they wonder what magical "fat burner" I'm using, rather than the 'roids......Darn "persistant handfull"....

Well I don't have BIG muscle per-se I think it is due to the way I am responding (muscle memory) that people (well at least that guy) think I am on something.

I often hear comments about roids (not about me though!! LOL) from people who either don't work out, or from others that don't have the drive to train intensely or diet enough to grow. I think it is just an excuse for their lack of motivation.
A few months back, a regular at my gym got raided by the cops, who were looking for steroids. They bought the drug dogs in, turned his house upside down, scared the **** out of his wife and 2 year old daughter and found nothing.
Once they had worked out that they were on the wrong track, the cops told him that they had an anonymous tip off that he was a steroid user and supplier.
Of course, once they saw him, they figured that he "had" to be using!
So here is one bloke that definately doesn't take the steroid comment as a compliment!
The owner of my gym actually sees all steroid comments as insults, because it implies that you didn't work hard for your gains. Again, pure jealousy.....

I have had several people ask me if I am on steroids....including my nephew who was drafted by the A's last year. Sometimes I play along and sometimes I don't. It's kinda fun....I always come clean though. I think one should take it as a compliment.

At the beginning, I did get you two (bodyhard and dbx) confused, thinking y'all were one and the same only because y'all did the same pose. Your avis are small enough to show both physiques to be "similiar" in size at a glance.
I later realized that y'all were actually 2 different people because y'all showed up in the same thread under different names.

Now that was funny. Great reaction! Closest I ever came to that situation was when a couple other old farts at my gym accused me of being on Geritol!

What makes me laugh is that people think you can take gear and then sit on your arse all day 'cos the 'roids are gonna do all the work. Those guys still have to work and in most cases work harder than anyone.
If someone is getting big quick, there is generally a reason. When you look at 'transformation of the week' and read some of the biogs, it's generally someone who lifted up to an age, then dropped off for whatever reason and has since come back to it. Muscle memory is something I wish I had. When my kids are old enough, I'm going to force them to the gym. Like riding a bike or learning a musical instrument, it's something that'll never leave them.
The first thing I now think when someone gets big quick is that they've trained before, they have the knowledge, form and diet information pre learnt and don't go through the trial and error of being a novice that we all have to go through.
Sounds like those guys in the gym were just ignorant.
