I'm scared of the gas chamber and the amount of running and the heat. But I'm not ****ting brix cuz we all gotta go through with it.
I hope the T.I's don't have a field day with me though because I have a tendency to make silly mistakes and be clumsy when under pressure lol.

Deadlifted 120 pounds for 50 reps and then proceeded to do some sprints. Have no idea what my motivation was.

Don't worry about basic. Air Force basic isn't that physical (relatively). If you're in some form of shape, you'll do just fine as long as you aren't a tard. You have to remember that there are countless amounts of people that go through so the chances that you fall anywhere other than average are fairly far out there.

I bet there will be some people that won't even be able to do one pushup when you get there. My recruiter said this and so did a couple Airmen on RAP when I was down at his office.

Tips for BMT
Came across your journal and thought I would give my 2 cents. When it comes to lifting weights prior to BMT, honestly, I wouldn't worry about it. I say this because the gains you have for muscle mass prior to basic usually burn up while in basic. Lack of food (hardly any time to eat so you don't get a lot of cals), lack of sleep, stress (mostly mind games) and you're constantly moving/burning cals. At the age you're at your metabolism is most likely very high and will burn what little you are able to put into your body. My recommendation is to work on the basic stuff ie. pushups, run time, crunches and pull ups. Get those down to your 100% goal and then focus on gaining muscle. While both are important, the basics will get you farther in BMT. And yes some Air Force people DO lift weights.....

As she's said here. Weight lifting would be something better suited for after any form of basic. Stick to the body weight movements they'll be having you do, you'll thank your self. Having a strong bench isn't going to help a whole lot after you're well into the 3 digits with push ups. You have to prioritize, although it'd be nice to be a big ol swole beast that may have to go on the back burner for a bit. The service is your life/career for the moment so I'm sure that would get a little more priority.

^^^^^^thanks you 2.
I have been doing a combination of both.
Would doing pushups EVERYDAY be a good idea? Because if thats the best way to improve pushups thats what I need to do.

My husband is AF too but had to go through a serious tech school when it comes to PT. They did what was called in and outs and 4 count push ups. In and outs are everytime you go inside you do 30ish pushups and the same when you go outside. You might look like a freak, but a really conditioned freak, haha The 4 count pushups were as follows: go down, shift weight to the right (while down), shift weight to the left (while down), shift weight forward (you guessed it, while down) and come back up. That all counts as 1 pushup. My husband also has me make a fist and put it under him while he is doing pushups and he has to hit it with his chest. I would say if you can do all that for a long amout of time, should be good!

Todays workout:
Deadlift
135 pounds for 50 reps
Pushups
1 set of 4-count pushups (only got 8)
Chinups
3
4
Notes
I was so drained after the deadlift my other 2 exercises suffered. (this should improve though as my strength-endurance gets better). Those 4 count pushups were really difficult, hence why I only got 8 when I can normally get 43 in 1 good set.

Swearing in next week! Shooting for BMT Sept. 22nd and going on a TACP contract(Tactical Air Control Party) so I can coordinate air strikes for the Army ; )
i've been using militaryathlete.com for my training! Check it out! They have a new routine everyday, just go by what they say and you'll be good to go. I do PT seperately and supplement in cardio. I hate running too, but start with a mile, then the next time you run add half a mile..keep doing it. I like to run for 10min straight, do pushups and situps(or flutterkicks) till failure, then run for 10 more minutes and do it over again.
Cardio is king bro, I have some friends that just graduated, they said just be able to run the mile and a half under 10 and kick out 60 pushups and 60 situps and 10 pullups and you'll be straight. If you think about it, thats not hard to achieve in the two months you have left. Hell find a tree to do pull ups on.
Goodluck at BMT and God Bless!

Thanks.
My chinups are getting better- I will test soon how many I can do in 1 set but right now I can do about 4 without having much of an issue.
I have been boxing lately rather then just lifting......boxing is fun.

Ah, I see you haven't posted lately. Hope you haven't slacked. I ship on the 12th (sunday) fly out on the 14th. I honestly cannot wait. I'm not physically in shape (running)... but I'm ready to give it my best.
