Nottoolate -- get socks with toes...... No wardrobe is complete with them. I have tons of them....... hehe
And now Pappy...... Why on earth would you not wear PINK. PINK is an empowering color....... And with your coloring, you could pull pink off really well... Lots of men wear pink. Pink is a hot color... I love pink. And baby blue as well. I think both look great on a man... Try it... You might be surprised.. They are some beautiful men's dress shirts that are shades of pink. They look great with a suit.
One time, my husband came home and I had painted our living room hot pink.. He about flipped. I did not mean to paint it pink. When the paint was in the can wet, it looked very southwestern, but it dried to a very hot dark pink. It was heck painting it white again. It took about 4 coats.....
I grew up with mostly white walls and moved to an area where everything is colorful. The building, the house -- everything. So I wanted southwestern walls. But I flubbed.
I remember once my dad coming home and my mother had painted their bedroom entirely lilac.... He was very good natured about it. It lasted for a few months and then one day it was white again.
Once for a surprise for my grandmother, we painted her kitchen entirely red. We bought her red dishes even. That was hard to cover up as well.
I have a beige interior now but I feel this wild streak coming on and want to paint it. I am thinking of gold. some shade of gold. Not yellow but something more with brassy tones in it. I have lower wood walls. Cedar actually. And I want something to offset the beautiful wood.... Right now I am in the process of sanding off the peaks of mud off the walls to make them flatter with a different texture before I paint. I do a little every day. I only have two more rooms to go.
I am also thinking of putting red tile on one wall in the kitchen. I am also ripping up our carpet because I want all tile or hardwood but I am leaning more toward tile. Some days my husband comes home and a little more carpet is gone. I only have carpet in half the living room. It is very hard to get it up. There are lots of little nails on the sides of the room that hold it down. I had to get those up too. I have removed it from the halls, the closets and half of the living room so far. I have even considering sanding down the sub floor underneath, putting grain in it, beveling it and staining it and then varnish. I just don't know. I'll probably go with tile however. I have even considered river rock. We have tons of it.
Look at this link. I think it is lovely.
http://www.extremehowto.com/xh/artic...ticle_id=60129
Right now I like deep colors with deep tone for the house,... reds, navy blues and yellow hues. I think bright deep colors would complement the wood tones in a cabin. I hate drab dull interiors. I like vibrancy surrounding me. It soothes me.
I also sanded and stripped some small cedar tree for curtain rods. I am going to make small quilts for curtains.
And you are right about everyone being related. I love being the outsider.... It give someone something to talk about.
I have a plan but it is going to take me a while to get it together.
I am not a city girl but I used to be.... Now, I love my solitude and try to create my environment around me.
This is my road I live during the last snow storm we had........ it's just a one lane dirt road winding through the woods... Under the snow, it is a 4-wheel drive kind of road.
And here is an interesting little link.

I guess I have rambled..........

It has arrived............ so we are stuck in the house today. Ice is falling down right now.... Glad we are nice and snug. Probably later on, my internet will go down as my satellite becomes iced over. Same thing with the tv. So, this will be my last post probably for a couple days.
I hope everyone effected by this stays safe and warm..

Hi Jenn I'll be back later to post a pic of the socks I like your cabin and I like your idea of the stripped branches for curtain rods, that's pretty cool A lot of my house is off white but I have a deep hot pink bathroom LOL and the living room is painted a warm brown on one wall only and my kitchen is yellow and the stairwell is a kind of rose. I like colours too

Oh no! You posted that right when I was typing. Stay in and be safe Jenn! I'll miss you if you can't get online but I can understand that living in a rural area it's like that.
Take care of your man and be safe!

I am still online so far.....
I love your colors... They sound nice. One of my girls wants to do shades of brown in her house.
I swirled my bathroom once with pink and yellow. It was beautiful but hard work. Your bath sound NICE!!!!!
Hopefully I'll be on later..

I love the socks..... I really do. I wear a bandanna at times that is EXACTLY THE SAME COLOR SCHEME.... hehe....
My new workout video is a killer diller. It is MUCH different than the power rounds. This is intense. I am nearly dead after the 8 minute workout. And I am not sure why they call it 8 minutes. It is at least 15 minutes of intensity with a warm down period included. I worked leg muscles that I did not know existed.
I am excited today. I start my new position at work this morning as an engineering clerk. I am going to continue wearing my blue jeans and moccasins until they tell me different. But I am going to work with the engineer who makes the space shuttle. It is going to be so cool......
I'm going to miss my production buddies... but on the lighter side I still get to work from 6-2:45 or so so I will still see them some. One other clerk works the same hours and she is going to train me. Everyone else is 8-4:45. I love the flex hrs because it really helps in bad weather. And in the summer these are perfect hrs for laking.......
My new boss seems pretty nice too.... I am so lucky in that I love my job~!
Well, time to shower......
And Pappy -- nothing wrong with ruddy and pink..... But have you thought of maybe baby blue???
See ya, Jenn

All I can say is... Wow!
I don't mean to intrude, but after reading your journal.. I just needed to tell you, you are such an inspiration and your success is so motivating to me!!
Reading your posts made me laugh and at times, well up, because of your happiness in achieving your goals - and of course your 'great' stories about your husband and your life!!
You're a very 'real' person - hopefully more women (& men too!) will find your journal and help them on their own journey to get fit...
I am so glad to have found your postings.. I am starting my own journey and you are now part of my motivation!!!
Just wanted to say "thanks!!"

How's that new position going so far? Hope your liking it
I've had computer problems and I'm looking for a job so I haven't been able to check in quite as often as before but I haven't forgotten you!

Well she has given enough info to know where she lives and what her full name is so I'm going to phone her! I can't stand it. I know she wouldn't just drop off the face of the earth without a good reason so I have to find out if she's ok. I'll report back here if I reach her. I'm hoping she is just busy from her new position at work but I am still worried.

I just talked to Jenn! It was wonderful to talk to her in person (well in voice lol)
She is ok. Her internet is out because the dog chewed through the cord lol
She will have it up again in a few days
She is still losing inches and she's an inspiration to her work friends!
Wow, it was sure nice to hear her voice, she sounds very southern! lol

I AM HERE WITH A VERY VERY VERY S L O W connection. I am using one satellite wire instead of two. It is patched....
And nottoolate.... it was soooo wonderful to hear your voice. I cannot express how great it was to touch base with someone in lala land... It was the best thing that has happened in a long time.
I will not forget it!!
I am still doing good. I have not fell back into the fat hole however I am on a plateau and still at 188. I have not lost anymore weight but my clothes fit looser so I am losing inches........ I guess....
Now......nottoolate, you wanted pics...... Well, here ya go...
The first is an oil painting and the others are digital that I created.
Well, I got to find them. They are on photobucket somewhere or possibly on a disk....
Later.........Jenn

I'm looking forward to those paintings when you find them Jenn I love artwork.
I did a watercolour once. I'll scan it for you. It was my initiation into watercolour land lol I've never done one since. I'll try to scan it tonight for fun if I can find it.
You do have a southern accent lol It sounds great though, I miss hearing that. It brings the southern out in me lol
I'll be back later tonight if my kid will let me use the computer, if not then tomorrow morn

Good to see that you're still alive & kickin', although "the dog ate my satellite cable" sounds like one of those made-up excuses that I used for not turning in my homework on time when I was in grade school, so I'm a little suspicious about that...
(and glad to say that we Okies don't talk funny....that'd be downright embarrassin'! )

Well, I am back........ YEa!! And my stats are nearly the same. I fell off the wagon and gained 10 lbs and it is sure hard to admit it. I feel bad about it. very bad.
BUT +++ My husband and I am starting P90x in the morning. We are going to do the lean version. I had to dig around to find my username and password to this site. i HAD THOUGHT I HAD LOST IT. I started a new thread WITH A NEW USER NAME but I am going to close it and transfer my info here. I like the continuity of one thread.
NotTooLate -- YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!!
I'm going to get the other info and post it here so all can view what I am fixing to undertake. I'll just put a link to the other thread on this one.

HERE'S OUR PLAN....... 90 DAYS AT A TIME....
My husband and I am starting P90x Lean Version in the morning..
The Lean Version has more cardio than "weights and pull-ups" (which is the classic and doubles version) so that's why we are starting with LEAN.
We have a pull up bar that we bought for when we reach the pull-up bar point but we are seriously considering putting a bar in our living room from the ceiling. hehe... You can laugh with me, it's ok.
So tomorrow is day one. We are going to get up at 2:30 AM every morning for our workout. That's fits in with our work schedule.
My husband has been out of town the last week and got back Friday. While he was gone I did the Kenpo X tape 4 days in a row and lost 5.2 lbs while eating well. Sweat is becoming my friend.
It's feel absolutely marvelous when you finish one of these exercise videos. You feel like you are on top of the world. Sore, pain and all. It's great!
This is our first month schedule. We are not going to track our weights. Our goal is to simply finish the program. I have watched every single video at home this week. It's going to be tough but I am super super excited.
We are both going to use the same diet that I was on before. Because it works.
