bama, i need to clear this up..this isn't towards you-- i don't think there's anything wrong with the muscular look and stevie wonder can see that it takes work to look like that. i totally respect it. what i don't respect is being insulted and if you insult me, im gonna insult back so that's what i did.

Not all women who train hard are doing it to look like a huge bodybuilder. Some are shooting to be fitness contestants, figure contestants, or just training to look as good as they can. It is the hard work that they put into getting where they are that makes that look for them sexy to me. Not that they did it for me or anyone else. They decided it was something they wanted for themselves, and went for it. I am not sure you appreciate the amount of work that really goes into getting the bodies these ladies have. Do not think for one minute that you are gonna do a little of this and a little of that and be even close to matching them ever, especially in two weeks. Put in their effort for several years, then you will no longer feel the need to compare yourself to them.

yes i've realized that this isn't the forum for me. i found it when i was looking for videos on how to do certain excersices and played around on throught the main website website and found the forum.. i looked at some of the threads and there were people asking questions very similar to mine like for example how to lose baby weight and how to get their girlfriends into shape.

coke or tapeworm diet. just ask your trainer b/f to help you start out lifting weights, damn, don't know what the big deal is, at least he'll see you trying to lose weight rather than see you mope around.

Sexyneedhelp-Please don't let this experience drive you away from the forum, it really is a great place with tons of individuals on here who strive to motivate and encourage those most in need of support when it comes to nutrition and fitness. I do find it quite unusual that you received the treatment you did on this thread since people on this forum ask all sorts of question on here without fear or backlash for doing so.
I don't believe for one minute there is such a thing as a real or right question to ask in certain situations. By limiting questions to such, we limit not only the potential of ourselves but others as well. I do believe that you asked a valid question, which really deserved a valid answer, which a few individuals on this thread were willing to provide.
To answer your original question, losing 2 inches off your waist seems a bit unrealistic to me, especially when dieting and exercising the right way. If you give yourself a month (maybe) or two then yes it can be done. As far as shaping and pumping up the booty, along with strengthening and flattening your stomach, the best way to do so is by focusing on diet in conjunction with exercise, and exercise would include your cardio 3x a week or more + strength training a minimum of 3x/week.
I really think you should consider focusing your efforts on health in general, rather than focusing on it for a short period of time. Start by changing your lifestyle and start incorporating clean and healthy eating as a part of your regimen and getting in exercise on a regular basis.
As mentioned on this thread, do your best to read as much as you can on how to build a healthy diet plan, one that will not only aid in weight loss, but promote general health. Outside of this forum, a really good book that I would recommend for basics on nutrition is, "The Eat Clean Diet" by Tosca Reno. This book, in my opinion, is great for those who have no background on nutrition and need support in living their best and healthiest life possible.
I wish you the best and if you need any support, please let me know.

This forum can be for you if you want it to be. When I first came here I admit I had no idea where to look so I simply asked everyone what the best way was to start eating clean. I wasn't looking for anything overnight. I had been lifting for years but had sadly just learned (back in january) that diet is more than 80% of what you look like and if you didn't have that right then you wouldn't see hardly the results of all that lifting. I asked that question because I knew I couldn't just eat like crap one day and completely change EVERYTHING the next day. I wouldn't last, I'd relapse. I had to find a way to gradually make it a part of my life.
The cool thing about body building is that you can shape your body to the extent that you want. Muscle burns more calories anyway so why not add a little bit? And also, do this for yourself, not for some dude. This lifestyle has given me a lot more to focus on than my guy problems and work, etc. I've said this a few times on here, looking good is like the cherry on top but above all this should be about a healthier you so that as you age you can continue to FEEL GOOD. And just having that attitude about it alone should really impress your guy.
Just keep reading, educating yourself and figuring out where you fit into the body building scene... then as you have questions about gradually changing your lifestyle we will be happy to encourage you.

thanks cynthia.. yeah i'm pretty suprised too because as i said-- i looked through a few threads first and people asked similar questions without any backlash.. i guess some of these people have some pent up anger , who knows-- it's not that serious really.. but i actually have got a couple serious responses.. i aslo thing some people didn't read my whole question and didn't realize that i didn't want to get in shape in two weeks and then sit back on the couch. i want to be fit for life, but i set the goal of two weeks to see at least some improvement so i can be seen in public in a bikini while there's a little bit of summer left.. thanks for you input, i truly appreciate it

Actually...
The women here can offer great advice on how to lose fat and gain muscle, improve your diet and health. They can offer support when you're feeling down about it all, and praise when you're doing well. And when you're being lazy and self-indulgent they'll give you a kick up the jacksie, and generally toughen you up.
I think this is exactly the forum for you.

healthy weight-loss is 1-2 lbs/week
cardio will only make you a smaller version of what your body looks like now.
diet is 90% of abs. i also recommend the eat clean diet by tosca reno...but also eat clean magazine and oxygen fitness. lifting weights can add curves and tone to your body.
http://weightloss.about.com/od/eatsm...lcalintake.htm has some info on how many colories you need to maintain your weight (these are just approximations). personally, i dont' keep a rigid count of the calories that I eat. I just try to make healthy choices such as no mayo on my sandwich, just mustard. and cook with spices not sugar. oregano and basil on chicken with a touch of lemon juice is awesome. if you look online here or oxygen fitness website you can find many easy clean eating recipes. The basic way that i define clean eating is eating as close to nature as possible (avoid food processing etc). minus the fat in dairy haha. fat free mild, yogurt, etc. fresh fruits and vegetables, chicken, tuna, lean meats. lean ground beef, buffalo. most "un"-processed food occurs around hte edges of ur grocery store...the processed foods are on the aisles. crackesr are an example of a processed food-many ingredients, large amounts of salt etc.

I'm gonna go a bit of a different route with the whole training with your boyfriend because he is a trainer. I would suggest not doing it. My trainer is one of my closest friends... I talk to him on a daily basis and we hang out regularly. He has a strict rule of not dating clients or training the girls he is involved with on a romantic level because it makes the personal relationship wonky.
I would talk to your boyfriend and ask him for some advice but maybe stay away from him becoming your true trainer. Not that he doesn't know what he is doing but because he is your boyfriend and if he becomes your trainer - it will seep into your personal relationship. Heck, its hard being friends with my trainer - sometimes our training sessions become more friend time and our friend time ends up with us doing trainer talk.
Defiantly talk to him about it though. He has knowledge and I would be shocked if he didn't want to help you on your journey. Ask him if he knows a woman trainer - you may be more comfortable with a female one to start off with. Also, he knows you aren't on the same level as him - he would be more impressed by how hard you work even if you can't do everything he does.
Just make sure you are doing this for you and not because of him. And don't go for gold then quit when you get there.
Also, you mentioned a few pages back about all the good trainers yell at you when they train you. A football coach may yell at their players but a good trainer will not yell at you while you are training. You are their client... they won't get paid if they make you cry and quit. I have only been yelled at by my trainer of a year once and that was because he was mad at me for constantly saying I was fat... and all he yelled was you are not fat. Maybe if a trainer and a client have that type of relationship... but seriously, a good trainer doesn't have to yell at you.

i'm glad someone finally gets where i'm coming from!! lol yeah i definatly don't want him to train me, i'm really not paying attention to the people on the board who are telling me that he should because i know it's not a good idea just for the reasons you said.. but yea i think i'm going to have him look at my workout plan once i have it written out just for his proffesional opinon and i'm sure he'll be flattered but that's as far as it'll go.. once i'm in shape yeah maybe we'll run together that would be nice but i'm not gonna let him train me, especially with me so out of shape right now..
and no, i'm definatly not doing this just for him or anything like that.. i know it might come off like that way, but it's more like him being a trainer is motivation to stop letting myself go.. if you check out my pics in the course of less then a year i've gotten lazy and let me body get really soft ---lets face it the average guy usually just cares it if you have perky boobs and butt and anything else is a plus but the fact that he sees women that are fit all the time i'd hate to be compared to that so i guess it's a motivator..

But see - he is dating you not them... so that says a lot that he probably isn't comparing you to them and seeing you on the losing side. Just remember that when you start thinking he is comparing you or that you aren't up to his standard - he is dating you. If he didn't think you were something special, he wouldn't be.
As for the avg man, I have learned - there is no such thing. Each one is a bit different. I have one guy friend who was horrified when at 270lbs I decided I wanted to lose weight, he thought I was perfect. My trainer thinks that at 210lbs that I have a nice ass and thinks I am beautiful. Several of my guy friends prefer girls with no boobs, some prefer bigger. Some like a nice butt, some could care less. Heck I have one guy friend who its all about the woman's wrists... Just depends on the guy.
I know about letting the body go and you are a bit older. What you could of done awhile back its going to be harder now. But just read about here and maybe check out the oxygen magazine to learn more about clean eating and some great workouts. I don't know if anyone else here reads it but I find it a wonderful source and have had great luck with it.

Ha, ha Dollface33-well said. I really don't know how people function in life by promoting the downfall of others. Life has so much more meaning when you do your best to uplift and empower others; by doing so you bring goodness in your life (it's the law of nature).

that's true, if he wasn't horrified i guess he doesn't mind.. also his ex girlfriend was like some miss venezuala or some crap so i'm like oh god! lol this is a good kick in the butt tho.. i need it..and yes, getting close to 30 isn't a joke with the metablism slowing down. i realize that i'm at that point that many people give up and that's why there are women in their 30's that were slim when they were younger who are bigger now, but yet don't pig out. it's just that choice that you have to make to realize you're going to have to work. i really don't think anyone over 30 who's looks slim is that way other than starvin themselves by anything but working hard i realize..

yeah, your stomach might GO DOWN a couple inches but that's only if you starve yourself and the water weight/bloating has passed for a few days.
it's going to take a few months. or a couple if you are willing to be extremely strict.
-for carbs, eat veggies instead of breads/rices/etc.
-high protein, but not too high or you'll bloat if you're not used to it
-with every carb have a protein source
-dairy once a day if you're going to have it
-only HEALTHY fats, natural oils, peanut butter, nuts, etc.
-no red meat, pretty much only tuna (PLAIN), chicken, protein shakes (no sugary ones... plain whey or soy powder + water)
-lots of water
-only drink 0 calorie beverages
-absolutely NO alcohol/junk food
-caffeine
-at least 30min cardio almost daily
-weight training at least 3x week

I agree, its not going to be that easy unless its through water weight loss, as opposed to true weight loss.
As comparison (keep in mind that I have trouble losing weight due to PCOS and hypothyroidism, so everyone's time frames are different). It took me from February to mid June to lose 3 inches off of my waist, so I would say that losing 2 inches in 2 weeks is going to be a tough shot. Again, you can do it through water loss, or those body wraps, but the effects will really be only temporary, not sustained.

Almost everyone has experienced that, I did. Even though I was training twice a day and eating like I used to I gained 25lbs and went from a size 5 to a size 9. Your body changes as you age, metabolism changes, hormones change, even tolerances to foods change. The first step is realizing the change (which you've done), and the next step is to counter act that change, which is why you are here. Honestly everything freebirdmac said is bang on, so Im not going to bother repeating it. And dont get discouraged about the forum, just find like minded people, or people who are willing to help and go from there. I would definitely suggest doing lots and lots of reading on here though, and then send out questions to specify some of the things you have learned.
Working out is working out, eating clean is eating clean, there really isnt any reason why you cant lift weights or elliptical or run. The results you get are going to change based on the goals you have, I really do believe that weights and cardio should always be included in whatever goal you have, so dont shy away from learning new things.
And if you dont feel comfortable with your bf being your personal trainer (I could see why that may be an issue), then maybe ask for a suggestion for a female personal trainer from him. He would likely know someone who could help you out. Leave going to the gym with him until you are more comfortable with your body, and with what you are doing in the gym (if even then, some people hate working out with bf's).

Have you put together some meal plans yet? Getting into the gym is great! But lets get that diet dialed in.

I don't blame Mindi at all. I find more and more posts of people asking for workouts, diet plans, menus, etc...without taking any kind of time to do any research themselves.
She admits she's let herself go, she eats like crap, she's lazy...(posted this in her 1st thread) So being "lazy" tells me she's not going to bother doing any research herself. But she wants her body back asap and wants a program asap...you can't be serious?
There are people that are less knowledgeable and there are people that want it spoon fed to them...big difference.
