Fat verses Muscle
Hi I have a question. I've been working out for almost a year now. I went from 216 down to 175 and went from a size 16 to a 12. Now I know that doesn't really seem like a lot but to me, its amazing. I haven't really worked out consistantly for the past 2 months, more of and off and on thing. But I noticed that even though my weight hasn't changed, I am now fitting into size 10s. Am I losing muscle? Or fat? and if it is fat how come the weight hasn't changed? I like the muscle that I have but I still have a lot of fat left over. How can I change that? Is cardio truely the only way? I've been working with kettlebells and have loved it. I really don't want to change that part. Please help! Thanks
-Sara

First off- Awesome work so far! Don't shortchange yourself. Going from a 16 to a 12 is wonderful!!!!
It sounds like you may be losing a little muscle by not lifting regularly. The more muscle you have they faster your metabolism will be so you'll burn more fat. You should shoot to lift 3-4 days a week. Diet is also a HUGE component. Are you tracking your cals & macros? The proper diet and macro breakdown will help you shred that fat in no time.

Hi brownsugar,
congratulations on your accomplishments so far. Macros are your macronutrients: protein, carbs, and fats. One piece of advice, if you don't have a food scale get one. Good luck!

First, Congratulations on your weight loss! That is fantastic!!
Also, start looking into sites like fitday.com or nutritiondata.com (I really prefer the latter). They will help you track your macro breakdown, and how many calories you are eating.
