There is NO gym in West Tucson...
West Tucson is a very expensive area with lots of new development and expensive homes towards the mountains, and yet the closest gyms are downtown, which is like 10-15 min east. If they opened a gym by the community college (which is sort of central to the "West" part of Tucson then I bet that gym would rake in fukin BANK from people who want a place convenient. The LA Fitness I go to now in north Tucson is like a year old and it is so crowded during the day you can't even get a damn cardie machine, and they have like 50.
I want to invest in a World Gym franchise or something.
How do you do this?

Ya, I was visiting the World Gym website to see if they had a location in Tucson because it showed an "unverified" location on google maps. There actually is no World Gym in Tucson, but I saw at the top of the website it says franchise run... So this got me thinking.

Why, there are ton of homes that do not belong to communities with their own gym. Additionally, there are people who would rather go to a "real" gym.
The area is showing strong signs of growth, and there are a lot of areas still left that are not developed on... I can see a gym being a good addition to the area.

No...
West Tucson is what I consider the area in red. There are no gyms in this area. Look at the density of homes/etc in just one part of this red area...
Those 'E' 'B' letter results at the top of the sample area in yellow are hotel gyms and crap, no actual gyms.

he's right, i live north of pima west and the closest one is 15min east which is la fitness. its a lot better than going to bally's, but still. much rather be at gold's but that is way to far of a drive. if they had one along silverbell or west of i-10 on grant that'd be sick.
sorry dude, i feel your pain

rec is horrible, pima is tolerable but the hours blow. you shouldn't have to go to rec real early or super late to escape the homo brahs that run that place during the afternoon. then again i haven't been in there for a while either. sucks that they got rid of bear down gym, peeling paint, just a few benches and free weights. place was sick.

I can, but its a ten minute drive... and I'm sick of the ****ty hours. I want a 24-hour gym... so I want to make my own, haha.

of course it isn't 24 hour. its hard for half the dumbasses in there to workout late when they're all too busy bar hopping and clubbing. if they weren't gettin wastin at two in the morning who would be in there at noon the next day hungover hogging all the benches while they're just talking? lulz, not good for their image

West of I-10 and Grant is only a 5-10 minute drive to LA Fitness. I drive from Wilmot and I-10 sometimes to that gym.
