[QUOTE=jaim91;349304801]More sites = More accurate.
Thank you!
Now I need your advice...I'm in the CHA diet and doing the Tri Phase program (3rd phase 2nd week) but now I suffered an injury in my back and ankle for which I'll be off from the gym for about a month (I hope), question is, how should I modify my diet in order to maintain same BF and keeping muscle?

Err...
I'd go easy on that. It has carbs, right? If you can make it yourself using the tomato sauce, onions, hot sauce, whatever else, I'd do that...

I'd still take in at least 1g per pound of lean mass, and then sub in the rest of the cals with healthy fats.
Maybe consider just eating at maintenance, or even slightly under (while keeping protein high), if you want to lose bf.

this is good info, okey, so for 175 lb @ ~8.5% BF and 160 lb LM what's the maintenance cals intake? I understand that out of the total cals intake it will be 160 gm of protein, right?

10 carbs? No, 10 calories all from protein!
Don't worry about sodium at all until the end of PEAK WEEK!

My best advice to you hun would be to eat as you normally do, but track your calories using fitday.com or thedailyplate.com
Then, weigh yourself every morning. This is the most accurate way to see how many calories your body is using to maintain it's weight. And you can adjust from there.
Ya, approx 160 - 170g of protein should be fine. Maybe even more given that you're in the single digit bf

Great. Yes, 10 calories (per tbl) from protein. O carbs. You're right. Thanks for the confirmation. How about tabasco sauce--does that change the body's alkalinity? That would be another welcome addition to the diet. I'm still snacking on nuts at night-time--body am I weak-willed. I find myself craving nuts--crazy huh?!

hi so I am following the CHA diet, and I understand that we use the diabetic index and only count calories from the macro we taking in.
However, lets look at an example from the 1600 cal diet plan, the fat is 15g per meal. X6 meals.
this 16g comes from 6 teaspoons of PB; but 210 total calories due to 8g incomplete protein and carbs etc.; although, when counting we only count 135 cals???
if one eats PB as their fat source for every meal, thats 450 CALORIES that we are not counting!?!? (210-135=75) 75*6= 450 calories.
don't you think this is misleading? is this okay?
other fat sources don't have nearly as much of a difference, but still... I love PB... I eat it with every meal.

Its all relative in the end.. As you increase or decrease food amounts, you end up increasing or decreasing calories either way.. Dont sweat it at all.

thank you, however many people claim there is a realistic worry in terms of omega 6 to omega 3 ratios of fats...Is this a realistic worry with this much PB consumption??
I also take 4 fish oil tablets / day.

If you use a trainer, listen to him and him only or your results will suck.

Hi Team Scivation!
First off I want to say what an excellent source for nutrition and training expertise you all have been!
Some backround info before I begin my, "20 questions," so-to-speak.
I'm a 154 lb ectomorph and I've been lifting for over a year now.
I have found since I've began bodybuilding that my body does not by any means work well with carbs.
Everytime I eat any source of real carb such as rice, potatoes, spaghetti, oats, etc. I become very bloated and gassy and all that wonderful stuff.
I am very interested in the CHA diet and would like to know if it is reccomended for an ectomorph such as myself that works in a warehouse. (Very active job involving heavy lifting 6 hours a day, does that play a role in how my diet should be?)
Also, with the grapefruit and blueberries.. Should I be eating them around my workouts or does that even matter? It states in the article that blueberries may be eatin any time of the day. The part that confuses me is.. Isn't this diet supposed to be similar to a ketogenic diet? Meaning no carbs until our cheat day?
There's lots of questions I have rearding this diet and I'm very interested in going all the way with it to obtain optimal results.
My goal with this diet is to put on lean mass while maintaining or decreasing bodyfat. My goal weight overall is around a cut 200. I want to be able to show everyone on bodybuilding.com that this diet really works and help advertise Scivation.
I appologize for the wall of text guys. I just want to get everything right before beginning so I don't hurt myself or lose muscle or anything like that.
If you want to PM me that would be cool too as I am a little bit confused on how to eat with this diet. The part mostly that confuses me is the fruits and the cheat meal.
Thank you very much in advance guys!
EDIT: Also, what about creatine? I'm unable to find anything in the CHA diet for creatine. May I still take creatine at my normal time? As of right now I have a creatine + BCAA powder mix from ON that has 5g of creatine plus 5g of BCAA per serving which I drink throughout my workout. Than after my workout I have a whey shake which has 40g of protein.

You may need extra cals to account for the NEPA. This is something to talk about with Derek or Rob

Nope, we revised it to includes the fruits. If you want to place them around your workouts, or front load them (ie. eat them towards the beginning of the day), that's your call

We put creatine in Vasocharge...that should be all you need

Hey,
I just have a question concerning the cheat meal. Is it an absolute must? I ask because I have been making the low carb pancakes with blueberries and penut butter; to be honest, between that, sludge, and the no carb brownie I feel like Im eating cheats daily.

If I'm on the CHA lean mass diet
I finish my pwo meal and, if I really PUSHED it during my workout, I tend to find that I am still hungry!
(My meal is 1/2 cup pwo oats mixed w/ 4 tsp almond butter/raw tahini, 1 egg, 1 white + 1 scoop Vanilla Scivation Whey shake w/ a tad bit of sucralose and pinch of Xantham gum to make it real frothy if anyone cares: 15 fat 30 carb 35 pro approximately)
It's a bit of food, but noneless I am drinking a bottle of Diet Dr Pepper trying to ignore that I am still hungry.
If building mass, and I've only had 2 meals today, should I eat again, or still wait another 2 hours?
I know I should ask Derek, but he's already swamped with all my other neurotic questions/other people's questions I'm sure!

After being told me the doctor that I need to do something to get rid of all the bad crap in my body, I've decided to give CHA a go. Along with the diet, and Tri-Phase Training, I will also try to stop drinking soda. I think the soda will be harder on me then the diet.
No real point to the post, just saying hello.

Ask Derek ANYTHING, but on the real, eat more green veggies!
