Yea, I think so. I thought it was a USBF show.....or is that the same thing? The one in North Syracuse....I was planning on it. The only way that might change is if I come in shape early enough to do the NPC natural in Cleveland, then onto the NGA Buffalo. I want to do two shows so if im not ready for the NPC show, ill do the NGA and then the Syracuse show.....if that makes any sense.

You going to do the Rochester show? I had somebody ask about you... and insist I do that show, a minor compliment from a WNBF pro. Unfortunately I can't do the fall shows for reasons we've talked about.

Yea for some reason its USBF/OCB lol. IFPA pro qualifier I believe.
I will most likely be a novice middleweight. Unless theres something under this fat that I don't know about and I have the balls to try the open after my Poughkeepsie show two weeks proir.

I dont know.....I really have to decide what I want to do. It all depends on how I look come October. The only one thats set in stone is the Buffalo Olympus because I have some unfinished business to attend to.

I will most likely compete as a middleweight as well.....unless my cutting takes me lighter than I am imagining. I dont know if I will do the novice though.....probably depends on how things turn out at the Olympus.

Word life. Well If the INBF NYS Champs go well for me I might do the open lol. First time competing so I don't know if its even worth it. Do they allow cross entries between novice/open? I'm guessing no.

Shoulders and calves today. Set a PR for shoulder presses. Barely eeked it out, but I got it. 90's for 10 reps.
Calf raises (standing)
30 lbs X a lot
1/4 stack X 15
1/2 stack X 12
3/4 stack X 10
3/4 stack X 8 rest, pause, 3/4 stack X 4, r-p, 3/4 stack X 3
Donkey calf raises
1/3 stack X 8
1/4 stack X 15
1/4 stack X 15
DB shoulder presses
30's X a million
65's X 12
90's X 10
90's X 5
ARNOLD PRESSES
50's X 8
50's X 7
MACHINE LATERAL RAISES
110 X 8
110 X 8
110 X 7
BARBELL SHRUGS
225 X 15
315 X 10
365 X 8
Done and done. Solid day.
On a more negative note, I got a call from the doc today. I went in to see him about a rash I had and he did a culture and it turns out that it is an ORSA infection, which is a highly resistant staph infection......supposedly a "superbug". He seemed really weird on the phone and kept saying to me....."This doesnt have to turn into something serious". I was unclear as to why he was making it sound like "its not that bad"....like I had some foreknowledge of what ORSA was. Well, I checked it out on the web and apparently people die from it, so thats good to know. I called the doc back and he said that as long as I keep on the prescription and do follow up cultures until it tests negative, I should be good to go. So....phew. I wont be dead.

90's for 10?!?? That's pretty good BRAH. You on juice? Don't even think the rest of us are ignorant...
I hope you don't die from your private rash, dude. That would piss me off since I would actually like to get on stage with you before one of us expires.
I have not heard of ORSA, but my little nephew had MRSA and the doctors were VERY serious about it. They said that if they had missed it for another 24 hours it could have been too late. Holy crap! He had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days on some antibiotics that would kill a horse, but he came around nicely.
Maybe the infection was from where you inject yourself with your one gallon per day roids ration? Be careful man...

ORSA is the same thing.....the first letter in the acronym just identifies which family of antibiotic its resistant to. I think "M" is methylcillin or something and "O" is oxycillin.
Actually the rash is right in the middle of my abs. Luckily its only the size of a pencil eraser. Its been going down slowly, but seems to be stalling the last day here.
Youre nephew went to the hospital for that? Crap. Did it get into his blood stream or something?

Yeah, it was behind his ear over the skull. Not much flesh there. The concern was that it would get into the bone, and when that happens there is a very slim chance of recovery... or it's at best a heck of a fight. They would probably have had to amputate his head to keep it from spreading, but I guess they figured that if they did that then there was very little point. The spot was very painful and he had a pretty good fever going. For a small guy like him that was a big deal, so they kept him there to make for darn sure nothing went wrong. It was pretty full blown by the time they identified it.
Just don't die. OK?

Ouch.....wow. Amputating the head would ruin your day, for sure. Im glad they got that under control. I wonder if they did the same thing they are doing with me......old school sulfa drugs. Seems to be working.

Well, I just got back from the doc (and now im gonna get a late start in the gym.....grrrrrr), and he said that all looks good. Looks like the sulfa drugs are kicking its butt and im all clear to go do burnouts this weekend. He put me on another week's worth of meds and said I should be all clear by then. I better be, because if this ORSA starts feeding on hard earned abdominal muscle, I will start roid raging.

Hey Oak, this is actually one area I can knowledgeably reply to since I have recently learned about it in medical school. You should be fine with the sulfa drugs, and the good thing is is that it would clear up any UTI that you might have as well. Not that you would ever take roids, but they would/could actually make the infection worse. Just another way to show you never took them to start with.
And Jimmy, with the location of the infection of your nephew, the docs were probably worried about it entering the bone, but also the brain. The skull is very thin in that area too and if the bug gets in, it can cause havoc and spread to the whole body via the blood. Also, depending on the age, your nephew's immune system isnt as fully developed as an adults so it makes fighting infections harder for them anyway.
Oh, and you guys were right about the ORSA and MRSA naming. They are just two different types of the same bug. The way my teacher described it is that MRSA had better press agent so he got all the glory and ORSA was left out in the cold. And the whole reason we have these guys in the first place is because people throw antibiotics at every cough and sneeze when its a virus and not a bug. So the bugs become super bugs like they are on some roid-rage and can resist most antibiotics.
Sorry to nerd out on your thread, but I figured since you are a teacher, that you might find it interesting.

Nerds are totally welcome here. Thanks for the info. Glad I didnt "juice up" the Orsa.
Interesting thing about it though.......the infection is basically a sort of a boil under the skin and it has a really hard sack. It was all red and nasty, but it responded right away to the bactrum and feels A LOT better. The sack has shrunk quite a bit, but theres still some there. Still about a week to go on the drugs, so im hoping it goes away.

Havent posted a workout in a little while. Legs day was good today. I actually felt a bit crappy going into the gym. Ive been majorly stressed out the last few days because im getting ready to leave for my one mancation (big Shelby Dodge Auto Club meet in Cincinatti) and everything that could go wrong, went wrong. The car I was hoping to bring broke, I tried to fix it in time, but to no avail. So, im taking my back up ride. Had to put an axle in that....no prob there. Then my truck broke yesterday (tow vehicle) so I was SCRAMBLING to fix it in time. Hopefully that should be good now. Then, add all my other responsibilities with work and home and I was running around like mad. I was taking in about 2700 cals a day and lost 3 lbs in 3 days if that gives you an idea of the calories ive been burning doing all this work. So.......I felt real run down today, but that changed pretty quick when I hit the iron.
WARM UP - tread mill/stretch
LEG EXTENSIONS
1/4 stack X 20
1/2 stack X 15
3/4 stack X 12
Full stack X 12
HACK SQUATS
225 X 12
315 X 10
495 X 6
505 X 5 (PR)
405 X 8, drop to 315 X 8
LEG PRESSES
6 plates (each side) X 10
7 plates X 10
(DEATH DROP) 8 plates X 8, 6 plates X 6, 4 plates X 5 - BAM! Toasted.
At this point there were high school girls on the abductor machine......the one was sitting on it moving her legs back and forth while texting someone. I dont even think she realized she was doing anything with her legs. I asked them how many sets they had left......"three each". Are you kidding me? GET OFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!! ....nah, I didnt do that, but I wanted to. Stop screwing around and get serious or get OUT of the way. Unbelievable. Anyways, I just did some other crap......some more extensions, lunges. I was done anyways. The legs were baked.

Toasted.

I was waiting for all the broken car stories to start. Funny thing is that you haven't even GONE yet to beat on your cars. That's when the real breakage begins. And there's usually at least one breakdown on the way there or the way back. Looking forward to hearing about it.
Nice going on the leg pounding. Love those death drops - that's just my style. If I were you though, I would have hung out near the girls on the abductor machine, just dripping sweat and stinking. If that didn't clear them out, you could just fart and smile at them. Bingo - machine is yours.
edit - just noticed your age has changed to 30. Ooooold. Welcome to the downhill slide, fatty. You get my card?

Well, once those sponsorships come, that won't be a concern any longer.
A downstater, eh? You guys cause all the trouble...
Poughkeepsie isn't that bad of a drive, but that's a haul to Rochester and Buffalo, etc. You gotta want it. Must be plenty of local competitions down there, no?

I don't miss that trip, lol. I used to make that run from Roch. to Long Island all the time in college. My wife is from the Moriches/Mastic/Shirley area. Thankfully her parents and sister moved off of Long Island too, so we don't make that trip anymore.

Well, we made it down here to Kentucky OK. One minor trailer incident on my buddies trailer and I also realized the alignment of my trailer is out of whack cause it almost chewed thru one tire completely. Gotta swap that before I leave. Hopefully thats the end of the fixing for the weekend.
Been having a real good time here the last two nights......lots of partying and cars. I think we did a few too many burnouts last night because the police joined our party and put an end to the madness. We'll fire it up again tonight in a different spot of the hotel parking lot.
I built a scooter to bring with me and got it up and running really well........its a tiny kids scooter with a 5HP Briggs and Stratton engine strapped to it. The scooter weighs like 10 lbs. It was a riot until my buddy who is 270+ got on it and broke the hub right out of the rear whee.

Easy. I will be so huge that I will stretch the suit out so thin that they wont even notice it.

That all sounded too easy. At some point in this story there needs to be a break down overnight on the side of the road, a tow truck and a near fight with its jerk-off driver.
How can your stuff be this reliable?
I won't be impressed until I see pics of you dragging your broken car home with that 5hp briggs-powered scooter.
