Perfectly fine. Cook it and throw some spenda or cinnamon in it and maybe scramble a few eggs on the side and enjoy.

I never drink coffee so I can't tell you much about that one. I'm sure you'd be better off just drinking water though... try and get used to drinking it with every meal.

Toss a scoop of whey in a serving of oatmeal throw some water in there and call it a meal. Just had my first one and loved it, so much easier than making eggs

Then why change it? ive been down the path of being overly anal about my "cutting" food, in end it just ends up screwing me up more than if I was to just be somewhat cautious. Oats are great, just dont chow down the hole box lol

Oatmeal is a great choice. I think that many people use oats when cutting. I personally use only oats. I don't even eat wholegrain bread. Besides oats keep your insulin levels intact. It's very important for you don't get food cravings and have the feeling of being "nourished" for a lot longer!
Good luck!

I eat oats every day, usually with a scoop of casein protein and a few almonds thrown in, sometimes a little ground flax, too. It's healthy, full of fiber and (with the casein and almonds) good fat and protein, and keeps me sated for hours. I haven't had any problems with fat loss while eating oats.

I drink my protien shakes with a bit of oatmeal. Also have a serving in the morning. Oatmeal seems to control hunger a whole lot better than most foods as well.

Well, it's a great thing in the morning. I always have complex carbs once a day during my biggest meal - being breakfast!
If you're cutting, it's better to keep oats only for breakfast and well maybe for the 2nd meal, but try not to eat complex carbs after pm. I have about 50g of oats for breakfast and about 40g for my 2nd meal with 1 scoop of protein powder. It keeps me quite satisfied.
You see, it depends pretty much upon your diet and your macros. I go by 40/35/25 (P/C/F). If you use a macro, you should be able to calculate the amount of oats you can consume daily, but generally speaking, if you're hungry before going to bed, have some proteins (egg whites or a non-fat cottage cheese). The best thing would be something containing casein (milk protein), so cottage cheese for that matter. It'll keep you full longer due to its slow release.

Oatmeal is great for breakfast whether on cut or bulk. Make sure you add some protein with the meal. I like to drink a protein shake with it. I also like JayyC's suggestion of adding a couple of eggs. I never really liked the taste of adding whey directly to the oats. Cinnamon, stevia, and a few raisins or berries, mmmm..
Also, I like the old fashion oats much more than the instant. Just a taste thing, should make zero difference nutritionally.
Edit: today is a low carb day and all this talk about oatmeal is making me hungery

My usual breakfast consists of 1 cup of skim milk, protein shake (the milk and water), 1 cup of Quaker Quick Oats (from the round tub), and a handful of blue-berries or raspberries or both. Then I go workout for an hour with a trainer and then do 30 min of cardio. Then it's lunch time after downing another shake, some quick carbs, and some creatine.

Quaker Quick Oats. The kind that comes in a round cardboard container. The packet type of oatmeal has too much sugar IMO.
