I think the longer rest periods could do big things for you. Worst thing that happens is you dont like it and go back to the shorter rest periods. Also agree with overall mass, you have no bodypart that stands out as crazy good (besides conditioning) and nothing that stands out are clearly lagging. Id say keep hammering the back and those legs since not many are accused of having legs or a back that is too big.

this is going to be EPIC! Your workout might last longer than 13 minutes now!
one thing thats for sure is with the added rest and more focus on compounds earlier in the workouts, your numbers are going to SKYROCKET! Cant wait bro, and I also want to see what you look like dieted down. If you are that shredded eating "guestimate" MACROS, imagine what your body can do with a solid plan...

the short rests are somewhat a byproduct of lifting for sports as we used to get after it hard in the weight room because time was limited. will see how it feels today. if i decide to do a show ill start tracking macros to ensure weight gain, but its kind of liberating not being tied down to it for now.

I know you are trying for more strength gains at the moment Kirk, but have you tried lifting in circuits? Like doing a full Pull session in a giant circuit w/no rest? I used to do fullbody training that way and it was an awesome workout.
Ex:
Pullups BW x 8-10
Rows --- x 10
Hang Cleans --- x 8-10
Shrugs --- x 10
Curls -- x 10
Repeat 3-4x w/o rest etc.
Likely you've tried similar things based on the previous sports training in your background, but those workouts are great IMO. Full Body is even better because if you pair antagonistic body parts one after another you're going to see better results.

we used to do that, and it was a good workout, but is not conducive to my goals right now of building max strength and muscle.

Well indeed, you're going to find the C.N.S. recovery from greater rest periods to be significantly greater. You're going to feel more power as a result, so indeed lengthen the rest periods.

And on the calories thing for a sec. like Kirk said he's clearly gaining 3-4lb/month. Now why go and torture your GI trac with more cals when it's already working hard to convert all those foods to LBM?
But yeah like E said on the rest periods for the 1st big compound then blow your brains ouot after with that hyperactive shhh you do lol

Competition
You have a great build, yes you have weak spots, but they are common among bodybuilders, your mid section, arms and chest are great, your back, traps and legs do need more size if you want to compete and win.
You can compete right now if you wish, just pay your entry and your in the competition, to compete and WIN, you will have to overcome your weak spots. A competition you can enter and win right NOW is a fitness modeling competition, to be in covers of fitness magazines and supplement ads, etc...
If you want to compete as a bodybuilder, your most muscular pose lacks trap size, your legs are very very ripped, but need size so that they balance your upper body. Just my 2 cents. Your doing amazing so far!

Lower
Deadlifts:
365lb x 3 (6 Sets)
So i stuck to a lower rep range here and wanted to work on moving heavy weight. I told myself I wasn't going to time my rest and I would go when I was ready. Finished off 6 sets, which felt MONEY!, could have gone heavier for sure, 375 next week. Fail on the rest times though. I looked at my watch and i finished 6 sets in 10 minutes. Thats about 90 seconds rest, lol. Fck, fail, but PR!
Front Squat/Back Squat:
Front Squat: 185lb x 6
Back Squat: 185lb x 10
-60 Seconds Rest-
Repeat x 3
Front/Back squat supersets are just silly. My core was torched from deads and I was surprised to hit 6s on fronts. It was just manpower to get the 185 x 10. I used a 10 inch box to make sure i was getting depth. 10 inches is ATG, holy smokes!
Leg Press:
7 Plates/Side x 10 (3 Sets)
--Superset With--
DB RDL:
110lb x 12 (3 Sets)
Used a narrow stance for leg press to hit the quads hard, then pounded the glutes and hammies with RDL. Sweating up a storm after these.
Pistol Squatl:
BW + 90lb x 2
BW + 100lb x FAIL
LOL, just to try it out. Could have gotten it earlier in the session, but damn, my legs were toasty.
So the whole longer rest thing went down the drain. I am going to have to time longer rests because apparently just going when I feel recovered didn't work to well. I mean I nailed a PR, but 6 sets in 10 minutes aint resting much. The superset combos were killer and made for a helluva leg day!

Damn Kirk strong work today.
You're probably timed in your brain, your rest periods are probably subconscious at this point. In regards to that, set a timer next for 2 mins. hit it after each set and wait for it to go off, punch it off and start the next set, rinse and repeat.
Nice front/back s.s. there, done that before certainly can be draining and holy hell, is that a leg press I see there!?!? I thought Kirk never did that!
Strong work on considering it isn't a staple too.

holy jesus. Looks like you need to set your watch to 2-3 minutes to make sure your getting enough rest, lol.
That is one crazy-ass workout. DAMN at those pistol squats... +90lbx2 is no joke! Especially after all that. I think I'd just keel over at the bottom LOL.

Everything is very impressive but the thing that really stands for me is how you can do Pistol Squats with that much added weight.

even 90 second rest periods are a step in the right direction! as far as a comp, if i were in your shoes I would prob pick a target show sometime next season so you can add some more lean mass, bring up any weaker areas and have plenty of time. Or you could do a peak week next week and step on stage you lean bastid!

Hey and ummmm...nice 2 minute rest times on those deads there! How bout set your freakin watch alarm or sunchin? Something to keep you on track and not jumping the gate. Not that I don't think you can go uber fast but letting that cns recover will do YOU loads of good when the loads increase. or bring a pda or something...play a video game between sets ;P
