Cardio (running)
I want to incorporate cardio into my regimen at least 3 times a week. I was wondering if running the dsy before doing Legs would decrease the impact they would be able to withstand. Also, i know running the day of, before or after workout, is a bad idea. What about the day after legs, is it bad to run at that time. I am unsure but I would imagine so because the already fatigued muscle groups will endure the impact an break down, instead of recovering. Well, if you have helpful hints, i am very appreciative.

A facinating study by Vernon Coffey and colleagues from RMIT University in Melbourne measured the biochemical activation pathways in muscles following weight training and endurance cycling. High-intensidy muscle contractions, such as occcurs during bodybuilding or weightlifting, promotes muscle strenght and growth, while low-intensity prolonged exercise such as distance running or cycling builds cell mitochondria *cell energy centers* and promotes endurance. a cycling workout activated a biochemical pathway linked to improved muclse endurance and depressed a pathway linked to muscle hypertrophy.
Cliff notes: cardio such as running or cycling will wreck muscle gains and strength.

Hey dude,
Running the day before is fine, and the day after actually helps make them feel beter by getting the blood flowing in there again, and stretching them out a bit. I dont run the same day I do legs just for the reason you said cause they need to recover that day after the workout, but it always makes my legs feel better when I run the day after.
Also as far as low impact running slowing growth of legs I would believe it, but if you arer only doing 30 minutes I think that would be ok. HIIT running is best for fat burning and actually helps build muscle so the benefits of HIIT are two or three fold. I like to do HIIT most days and LISS or low impact the day after legs.

the lactic acid is gone an hour or 2 after a workout-still good to do cardio after lifting
