My flipping metabolism is not kicking in please help!
Okay so the past week ive done 5 days HIIT, high intensity like for 40 minutes just like after each workout had a drenched shirt afterwards full of sweat.
Breakfast i have porridge and whey protein, then after 2.5 hours i have 2 diffrent fruits and thats all.
Then after another two hours i have 2 slices wholemeal bread and veges and chicken breast.
Then i go for workout after 2 hours and approximately 5 hours after that i have dinner, which is like chicken breast or lamb and veges.
Im currently cutting atm, I lift like a freaking maniac and push myself to the limits.
I started this on monday, then on sunday morning checked my weight and I gained like 1.5kg. I could feel it as my stomach sort of flopped out a bit. I felt so depressed, i mean i was eating like under maintence level and did so much cardipo and exercise and found that i didnt loose any weight!

Looks like you're eating at a severe calorie deficit which is counter productive.

Do some research on the term "starvation mode"
If you're body is in it you will have a hell of a time cutting.

For some people, this kind of a schedule would only be effective for a week or two. Then your metabolism catches up to you, and you will stop losing weight. If you're really doing all this and not losing weight, it's time to take a short break to let the metabolism reset itself...

wait another week, weight loss takes time and is generally not linear day-to-day from my experience

facepalm.
Find me one guy who left a concentration camp fat.
Starving will still = weightloss
Maybe not the safest way of getting there, clearly not healthy, and I'm certainly not advising it, but if you put your body into a caloric deficit you will lose weight.

you're not counting calories, so you don't know if you're using an appropriate calorie deficit. also, six days is far to early to notice a chance, especially if you started this program abruptly. it's very common for people to notice no change or even an increase in weight when they begin a weight-loss program.
also, give yourself some time to adjust to what may be a higher-fiber diet than you were eating before.

For me the most accurate way has been this. Find your bmr then make that your basic calories for the day. Then find out how many calories you burn for each excerises you do, running, lifting, swimming, biking etc... Then add those calories to your daily allowance (bmr) each day.
For example my bmr is 1650. So at the start of every day I plan my meals and if it's a workout day (I usually burn 700-800 cals) I change my allowance from 1650 to 2300-2500. And if I don't workout the next day then I eat at 1650. This has been the best for me and most accurate.

Also, you're overdoing HIIT. When I was reading up on HIIT and did it during a 2-month cut, it was typically recommended that a HIIT session last no more than 15-20 minutes.

Sounds like you're not eating enough for the amount of exercise you're doing.
If you were doing HIIT right you shouldn't be able to last for more than 15 minutes.

Yeah, get new scales. You're doing everything you should be doing, or could be doing, really.

OP is bound to lose more muscle than fat on his current regiment.
You need more food, OP.
That, and the intense cardio for 40 mins after lifting is bad, bad news.

This.
What are you doing for HIIT?
HIIT goes in a similar fashion to: all out run/sprint for 30 seconds, rest for 30 seconds-1 minute, rinse & repeat for about 15 minutes or so.
How long have you been working out for? How much protein/carbs/fats are you getting in per day? Are you weightlifting at all?

while the term starvation mode is highly over used the metabolism can slow down for some people to the point of a crawl when cutting for long periods of time and trying to maintain muscle mass. albeit we are not on concentration camp rations of 500 calories a day so it will not be so obvious but it does happen quite frequently. you feed yourself 2000 a day then drop to 1800 a day then 1600 a day then 1200 a day and i guarantee you will be loosing mass going that low so why not do a refeed day or eat at maintenance for a week and reset things instead of spinning your wheels going to extremely low caloric levels coupled with drastic cardio expenditures?

i actually think the idea of calorie cycling is awesome. granted going down to 1200 is too low, but having a day at maitenance or a little above and then going down to 10 cal/lb bw for a day then up a little more the next day and so on. as long as your averaging a reasonable amount of calories over a couple days your not going to "waste away"

i like to have a day at maybe 500 (or so) above then i drop back down to 500 below for the rest of the week and it has remained simple to do and very effective for me.

sometimes between a hectic day and getting home late from work/gym im short on calories. (yesterday i only ate 1800). Instead of trying to cram an extra 600-800 calories in before bed i'll just tack on a couple hundred extra for the next da which i can comfortably fit in throughout the day. I think the stressing about getting in every single calorie before bed is a little much sometimes, muscle building/protein synthesis goes on for much longer than up until bedtime.
