I will probbably show myself 2-4 lbs lighter than on Nationals - all fat, what is fine.
I have no ambitions there as World is heavy contest and just being there and qualify for there is a big accomplishment!

When I have more room calorie wise, I can really make that particular recipe taste like peanut butter and jelly with the ability to use the appropriate amounts of berries and nuts.
Half the time I just "dump a buncha crap according to the macros I need" into a blender and blend. So long as your protein is pasturized egg white or dairy based and there's some fruit in it, it's hard to make a bad tasting shake.

923 for the 1 rep max calculator, anyway. I can't remember what the actual weight was - I think a bunch of reps at 850?
At the same time I'm working up to 1000, I'm working DOWN from it, too. LOL. We put 1000 lbs on a couple times, and saw how far I could bring it down and up without failing. I can only bring it down about 8" before I risk crumpling Getting it back from there there to full extension is not much of a problem tho. My knees don't like the idea of all that weight coming down on em, I think. LOL
What's with all the apologizing?

That is awesome work Euro! I remember the first time I hit 1000 I was jumping! You will get there! 850 for reps, I say another month and a half and you will be there

You know what's funny?
There are two leg presses, side by side. One has 500 lbs as the start (bolted down), the other starts at 90.
Hubby can't do the 500 yet, and I warm up on it now.. so we've taken to calling it "the big girl leg press".. which is funny, given that 90% of the men won't use it.

Awesome! I'd love to work on the big girl press with you one day! My best now is 1170 for 2 reps

WOW, Euro, that is IMPRESSIVE!! I can max out the 500 lb machine and thought I was kicking butt.
I'm 5 1/2 weeks out from my first show and any time I think about it, I start getting NERVOUS. Now, I know the last two weeks are when the changes are REALLY going to start showing, but I still keep thinking, "AAAAAHHHH!!!"
I added new progress pictures on my profile if anyone is curious. Feedback is appreciated. I know I need to work on my back... it's getting some special focus now. I also need to drop more body fat, but that is just a matter of time.

healthierJ - you have to start *somewhere* -- post pics, seriously. If you don't post them, here, take them for yourself and continue taking them every few weeks or every month. It's easy to think your body has not changed when in reality it has. :-)
OH WOW, you live in Live Oak?! That is not too far from me! I installed a wheelchair ramp in Live Oak once!
blue2extreme... I had grilled chicken tonight... along with spinach and some oil & vinegar with spices on it. Good stuff, though eating chicken and green vegetables over and over again gets old... I don't mind it, though; I like it and it's good for me.

Actually I love chicken, salmon ... all the good stuff, I just get so wrapped up into taking care of everyone else that by the time I get to myself I have time to workout and go to bed so I have been cheating myself out of good nutrition and just eating to many protein shakes or oatmeal with protein powder and egg whites ( I could live on this ), because I don't have to think about it, just eat it.

At May 16th ( 9 weeks out??), your back looked good to me. Good definition for that far out. Are you worried about the width? That could be more a posing issue, learning how to flare the lats more in the back double biceps and the lat spread. Your thoughts?
Also, your blog is very interesting to read, one of the best ones here.

OK we made it to Friday, how is everyone?
Hope everyone has fun plans for the weekend.
I'm shopping for more weight lifting stuff - I love having more stuff
Magazines, protein powder, gloves , books , weights ,
lat machine ( my fantasy - sad isn't it) , mostly window shopping but I love it.

Nah, I wouldn't call it sad. I've fantasized about having my own leg press since I was like 15!
Bought one like a year ago or so. Though we've since found and awesome gym and sold the majority of our equipment, I couldn't part with my beloved leg press! It's kinda lonely down there, the home gym has been turned into a photo studio! LOL. Talk about "out of place"!

Well, yesterday was a bit of a breakthrough for me.
My arms must be getting bigger, some of my shirts are now annoyingly tight in the sleeve. That makes me happy, lol!
Hubby's progress is driving me nuts. We're doing the same program! He started out from skinny though, so every little bit he puts on is showing. At least I can see that we're doing something right.. right?
Anyway, I've always been the girl who wears big baggy pants and a HUGE baggy shirt to the gym - even when I was fit. Well, yesterday we went shopping and I bought 2 pairs of SHORTS and 2 tops. The tops are still pretty big, but they have cap sleeves - I got sick of how sloppy the huge tshirt sleeves looked. Still buying from the mens' section, though
That all sounds stupid, now that I read it. Ah well, the idea of wearing shorts to the gym is huge for *me* AND my arms look quite a bit better in them.

Love my home gym- It's kind of my secret hideaway , my family knows to leave me alone when I'm in my special place. I even moved my computer area in there. I'm sure I will moved up to a real gym someday, but not in a real hurry.

I always use to wear long sweats and long sleeves when I worked out. Now I wear tanks and shorts because I love watching my muscles actually show when I work out. My hubby makes fun of me- because after every workout I have to go show him my pumped up arms. I wish my hubby would work out with me , he is more into computers and video gaming. I did get him to do Wii Fit,lol.

My Experiment for the Next 4-6 Weeks
Hello everyone. I'm glad to hear you're all doing well and keeping busy in the gym. I just thought I'd let you guys in on my little "experiment" I've started conducting, considering I'm doing this to learn more about my body's response to specific exercise stress in my pursuit of BIG muscles!!
Well, last weekend I picked up one of Mike Mentzer's books and have decided to give his HIT "Heavy Duty" training a try. I figure, in a few weeks, I will either be huge and buff or huge and fat, ha-ha! But his theories and training philosophies are just so intriguing that I have to give them a shot. I posted another thread in the forums pertaining to this training style specifically and, from others' personal experiences, it seems like I have a 50/50 chance of being 100% successful so we'll see what happens...

I want to get as big muscles as my body will naturally permit me. No steroids, but I will take creatine/glutamine only. It's working well so far. Slowly but surely.
