Weekend sounds awesome; I actually went down to the Florida Keys to a place called Sea Base with some friends. We scuba dived, camped, and even nightfished for sharks (yeah, really); we would reel the shark up onto the platform and then have to beat it senseless with a club. Really intense stuff. You'll have a great time. I know how you feel about waiting for packages to come in as well. I'm really stoked for my whey that should be coming in on Friday

Upper Body Day
Did a little bit of chest, back and tris today in preparation for my three days off that starts tomorrow!
FLAT DB PRESS
75x10, 90x7, 105x3*
*I got REALLY pissed off during this set. rant to follow. oh, i also supersetted these with BW Neutral Grip Pullups
MACHINE ROWS/SINGLE ARM BENT CABLE ROWS
100x12/70x10, 130x10/70x10, 130x10/70x9
Normally I dont have a very good MMC with anything DB row-style, and it was decent with these single armed rows today, so i was happy about that.
INCLINE BB PRESS
135x10 (4 sets)
Good connection on the last set.
STANDING NEUTRAL LAT PULLS
100x10, 130x10, 130x10
Good lat squeeze!
FREEMOTION INCLINE PRESS/FLYE HYBRID
80x12, 90x10, 90x10
I keep my hands at eye-level through this press/flye, hits my upper chest well!
[b]PULLUP PLYOS
Around the worlds, SeeSaw pullups, and side to side pullup holds.
RANDOM THOUGHTS
OK, why I was so pissed today: I HATE BAD SPOTTERS. especially when you dont ask for them and dont want them and they surprise you with a spot when you dont need one. Here's what happened. I'm movin along with my DB presses, and i'm startin to get to the higher weights (at least i think 105 is pretty decent) i get myself into the pumped/liftin heavy mindset (takes me a second to think through the lift i'm about to do and prep myself) and get two reps out, they go up slow but smooth, and all of a sudden on the third rep dude comes outta nowhere and grabs my wrists and "helps" me with the rep. first off, he cheated me outta the rep, which I definitely had. 2nd, he completely surprised me and threw off my concentration and rhythm, so it completely ruined the set.
I dont know how everyone else is, but a bad set throws off my workout for a few sets. especially one when its like my big lift for the day and i'm kinda usin it to guage my strength for the day.
so anyways, that was what pissed me off, bad spotting. if people dont ask for it, unless they are in serious trouble, dont do it.
ANIMAL FEED!
OK, so I said I wasnt gunna do anymore cooking for a few days, but I got a little extra time tonight, and i've really wanted to try my hand at an indian/middle eastern recipe lately. This dish was AWESOME!! flavorful, spicy, and VERY HEALTHY!

I totally agree with you on the spotting. Plus, it's not that imperative to have a spot anyway when you're using Dbs, lol. Heck, maybe you were going for a slow negative and wanted the rep to be performed slowly and weren't struggling at all. Enjoy the vacay, Matt. Should be awesome

One things that upset me about spotters is when you ask them for help and they help you with every rep and say 'That was all you'.
Recipe nao, plz! Except is that on couscous? I hate couscous

I had couscous once and I wasn't too big of a fan either; kinda dry I thought. In fact, I don't even really eat rice. It's all sweet potatoes and oats for me

recipe (this is actually a VERY cut friendly dish, you're welcome!):
Kadhai Chicken
Serves 4 (or two bodybuilders haha!)
Whatcha Need:
1.5 lbs chicken pieces OR boneless chicken
6-8 plum tomatoes, chopped (really any kinda tomato works OK right here, but with really juicy ones, drain them a little)
2 small green chillies, finely chopped
1 tsp red chilli powder
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp salt (or more per your taste)
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 tsp ginger paste (i used ginger that I grated on a zester)
3 tbsp canola/vegetable oil
Handful of chopped, fresh cilantro
Whatcha Do:
1. Heat the oil on medium-high in a wok or any pot with a lid, then add the chicken pieces, ginger paste, and garlic. Quickly sear the chicken (golden brown on the outside).
2. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chillies, salt, chilli powder, turmeric, garam masala and black pepper. Mix well.
3. Turn the heat down to medium-low, cover the pot, and let the whole thing cook down for about 15-20 mins. Stir occasionally to make sure it doesn't stick. No need to add water.
4. After that, take of the lid, turn the heat to high and reduce for 5 mins. I did it a little more than 5 min, cuz I wanted the sauce thick.
5. Garnish the whole thing with lots of cilantro, serve over Quinoa (or with some sort of Flatbread!).
and no, its not cous cous, its quinoa. my pretty recently discovered 2nd favorite grain (after oatmeal). its kinda like cous cous though, but whether or not you like it would depend on WHY you dont like cous cous lol

my guess is you guys had bad cous cous or cooked it wrong if you made it yourself. its hard to not like SOME version of cous cous. its kinda like risotto, you can pretty much make it taste like ANYTHING you want! you just throw the spices/veggies/whatever into the water as your cookin it! (and dont overcook it next time! lol)

ah my friend, you have a whole world of deliciousness to discover then! bland cous cous is almost impossible if you have a well stocked (or even just sparsely stocked) spice cabinet/drawer/basket... or for the lazy cook, Near East makes a bunch of great flavored cous cous styles (the instructions all call for oil or butter, but its really not necessary!)

oh, and also i already started cooking experiments again... first one back: FALAFEL!
I've been wanting to try it for a while, today was the day! made about 10 of them, 2 inches across each, served em up on a flat out with cucumber, hummus, lettuce, and tomato! i gotta admit, these were pretty good!! Oh, and normally ya deep fry these, but I baked them instead. and the pic sucks.
had some good (and not so good) food on the trip too! my favorite was Tuna Steak Metacumbe, a Medium Rare tuna steak topped with a slightly cooked down sauce of tomato, basil, shallots, onion, capers, lemon juice, and olive oil! also had a delicious rainbow roll there, at a restaraunt that was featured on Food Nation with Bobby Flay!
breakfast the next day was also at a restaraunt featured on Food Nation, the funny part was, we had no idea that this was the case with either of these restaraunts until we got there!
oh, the SCUBA diving was awesome too!! we had clear blue water, visibility for like 100 feet in every direction, no current to swim against, and saw all sorts of cool wildlife (sharks, turtles, tons of fish...) we went on four dives, and had a great time!

Sounds like an awesome time; when I was there we actually camped out in tents and were provided luau style food by the counselors so it was good, but not compared to what you had, lol. I've seen falafels on shows like DDD and they look awesome

the great thing about travelling to a place like the keys is, the good food is fresh fish and produce, so you can eat healthy AND delicious very easily!
