will an 18 lb weight loss lead to loose skin..?
Hi all! Thanks in advance...
I've recently lost about 16 lbs in the past six weeks (8 lbs right away, the rest gradually). I plan on losing another 18 over the next ten weeks, for a trip where I'll be wearing a two-piece swimsuit, but will only continue at a 2lb/week loss, knowing it won't lead to loose skin.
Have any of you ladies experienced loose skin after quick weight loss like this? I'd really like to lose the weight before the trip, but don't want to wreck my bod if it's gonna create the skin problem.
Any advice/info is appreciated!
Thank you!

I went from 5'5 & 145-150lbs to 5'5 and 110lbs in the span of one year (actually, more like 60 weeks). I did not experience any lose skin. I hate to say this, but do not expect to lose 2lbs per week at your size, you are simply not big enough to expect that. Keep weight training heavy, eat well, and hope for the best but don't expect miracles.

Thanks! *IT CAN BE DONE!* I have been maintaining for over 4 years now. 110 was too low, I'm up to 120-122 now after getting into weight training last year.
Have faith!

I actually have a little bit of loose skin, but that's because I always fluctuated in my weight. I also plan to loose about 20 lbs over the course of 6 months, I just hope my skin will snap back. I'm quite young, so I'm hoping.

I lost a lot of weight (more than 20 lbs) and I don't have any loose skin but I am young. I do have a few stretch marks from when I was bigger but you really have to look for them.

Keep in mind the more you continue with training the more you'll tighten up...so it shouldn't be a problem!
Nice work congats!

I had quite a bit of loose skin on my stomach after gaining then losing 50 pounds in the time span of 2 years (6 months to gain 'em, hung onto to 'em for a year, lost 'em in 6 months). I also store most of my fat in my stomach/love handles region.
The good news? Even if you DO have loose skin, the more you tighten up and drop fat, the less it will show. I hardly look like I have loose skin anymore and I will continue to get increasingly solid. So will you... though I think 2 lbs/week will start to be a bit difficult for your body to do once your body fat gets significantly lower. (Sure, it's possible, but you'll have no life with all the butt bustin' you're going to do, along with the brain fog from such restricted calories.)

My sister is 139 lbs and she's striving to lose 2lbs a week even though she lost almost 20 lbs in just over 10 weeks. I tell her strength training will help her get the most desirable results.
