supplement allergies?
I am 40 yrs old and have been taking numerous supplements over the last few years. In the last 6 months however, I have lost all sense of smell and taste for some reason. I wake up with strange random welts almost every morning, I now have acid-reflux occasionally and 2 minor cases of 'hydrocelle'...
Is this normal once you turn 40 or is it just me??...the doctors can't figure it out either...

nobody here is going to be able to help you but i am assuming you had a head CT for the loss of smell and taste?

CT = Computed Tomography, also known as a cat scan. It might be easier to stop all supplements, if you haven't already, and see if the symptoms go away? But don't rely on advice you get here - if one doctor can't figure it out, see another.

One way to find out if it's the supps...stop taking them. It's not unusual to develop allergies and intolerances as we get older. I have a growing list. Welts, which are hives, is a sure sign.

I haven't taken any supplements at all for almost a month now, no vitamins or anything and nothing has changed. However, we stopped using dryer sheets and the strange welts haven't been back...
Oh, and I have been to about 4 different doctors now
