Oma Plata from guard
- cross grip and pull arm to side
- scoop under his leg with your other hand
- swing leg over so you have one leg on either side of trapped arm, position feet like you are about to sprint
- keep tight grip on arm
- swings legs back to compete submission, keep grip on his leg

Kept it pretty light this week because I was going away on the weekend.

Went to visit the grappling girl friends in Toronto.

Checked out a new place that does pole dance, etc. fitness type classes - we didn't stay long


Sunday

Conditioning
At a new gym that specializes in training for fighters (or people who want to look/feel like a fighter). Went though an obstacle course for time.

Yoga/Pilates Convention
Did some acrobatic partner yoga 'cuz one of our friends was running a booth at the convention. Lots of fun and I got a sweet yoga buzz.


PLUS tons of walking with a stupidly large bag. Must learn to pack lighter in the future.

Thinking about Jounaling ....

Might start it up again

Update since the last post - I've stopped martial arts and mma training and the strange thing is I do not miss it. After visiting the girls in Toronto I realized that what I enjoyed most was hanging out with my friends. Sooo instead of fighting with strangers at the new place I've been spending more time with my friends and family

Started a burpee ladder back in April. Day one = 2 burpees and add 2 every day until you reach 100. This Saturday is the BIG 100, but along the way I had to start adding in some rest days. 10 buprees every day is not such a big deal, but once you get to 50, 60, 70 the shoulders start to get angry if you do not give them a break.

---- That's been giving me quite the conditioning workout. Less fight time = more time to walk my dog, and in the last couple of weeks I've started up the 5x5 lifting schedule again - it always works well for me.

Weight has been all over the place. Was up to 135 a few months ago, on the way back down now sitting around a fairly lean 125 (lean for me). Been following a paleo type of diet, avoiding wheat and dairy, but nothing too specific.

The Lose It! application for the iPhone/iTouch has made things a lot easier. It lets me log food, exercise, calculates macros and gives weekly averages. AND I get to push buttons! Now if I could only find an application that will log workouts as well.

so do you do weights AND bikram in the same day?? how does that work out for you? you must be really strong, yoga on its own is enough for my muscles to get a work out. I love yoga and pilates, too! glad to find someone else here who uses those as part of their regular routine.
