natty pb: skippy v. smuckers
so the basic nutrition facts are pretty similar...negligible diff IMHO
smuckers says you should refrigerate it...while skippy you dont have to.
isnt the palm oil everyone complains about being in skippy just to allow us to keep it at room temp? what's soo bad about palm oil?

I believe that the oils in the unnatural peanut butter are partially hydrogenated, meaning they contain trace amounts of trans fats. Plus they have added sugars and chemicals. Overall, natty tastes 100x better, I would never go back to eating the regular stuff. (Sunflower>PB in the end)

He was comparing two Natural PBs by two different companies, both which contain zero trans fat.
OP: I think many people don't like Skippy's because of the additional (but very very little) added sugar and palm oil, which gives a little bit extra carbs and fat into each serving. I don't have a problem with it.

yeah thats why!...palm oil isn't really good, i'd go for the most natural one, which is the smucker!....but i you need to bring your pb with you every now and then, then you can buy both and keep the skippy only when you need to go out with it!

Thought I'd chime in here - Natural, unprocessed palm oil has the same health benefits as virgin coconut oil (immune boosting lauric acid, medium chain triglycerides, etc) and could be considered one of the 'good' saturated fats. Of course if you ever see "hydrogenated" or "partially hydrogenated" near it, put the product down and run...
However, the palm oil in a commercial product like Skippy will probably be super heated and broken down. The food industry has started using palm oil to replace trans fats in products because it's shelf stable.
About natural PB - add a few shakes of salt and a sweetener to your container and mix it in when the PB isn't cold (warm it up a bit in the microwave), that's pretty much all your taste buds are missing. NuNaturals Liquid Stevia is awesome (no bitterness and you only need a few drops) or a vanilla stevia. It will make that natty pb taste great!

how is it "natural" peanut butter if they have palm oil in it? Get the kind with only peanuts and salt as ingredients. Tastes good to me.

Because palm oil is naturally occurring?
