Cheap NASM CEU's?
I am certified through NASM. Every two years I need to acquire continuing education units by taking a class, doing home study, attending a seminar, etc. The NASM approved CEU's shown on their website are expensive! Does anybody know any good cheap online CEU's for NASM? If not online, located in Ohio or in the Midwest.

I know they're expensive which is what you don't want, but consider the NASM PES (Performance Enhancement Specialist) and CES (Corrective Exercise Specialist) "advanced credentials."
They count for 1.9 (out of 2) CEUs which will recertify you for your CPT after you renew your CPR. They never expire and could help you by learning some new knowledge as well as giving you another certification which will stick w/ you forever w/ no extra work.
Also...
I'm not sure for the NASM, but the NSCA has a "personal development" section to report CEUs for. Basically what it is, is your activities which relate to educating yourself (i.e. writing an article in a newspaper, teaching kids, training clients?). You can pretty much put anything you've did in your spare time relating to strength & Conditioning and get some CEU credit for it, FREE.

Thanks for the input. I only have time to do self-study CEU's so I will probably end up doing the CES.

that's funny because I have the same question! i was thinking about doing the PES for 1.9 ceu's. So I guess that by doing the PES you renew your CPT cert. and get a new one?? I think that's the best way to go!

I was just searching for NASM CEU's myself. Since I need 1.4, I think I will go with the CES. Other than the NASM website, IDEA offers online CEU's. Just click on the course description to see how many each online program offers towards NASM.

This is a great one if you can find a workshop in your area. Cost is $250 and you earn .7 CEU's.

Just found another! You can get a monthly PTontheNet membership for $9.50 and earn 1.9 CEU's in one of the top two courses for $319 each.

Exerciseetc(dot)com offers loads of homestudy courses and they are usually much cheaper compared to other CEU providers especially if you look at their online specials sections. The courses in the specials are usually 40-60% off.
