Roadtrip-low carb?
So im going on a roadtrip and will be sitting in the car for a day...what should i eat? Should i lower calories or just carbohydrates. I dont want to gain fat or lose muscle. I know damage will be minimal but just curious what everyone thinks.

I like to splurge a little bit on roadtrips. I absolutely love Tootsie Roll suckers. You can buy a pack of them for less than a buck. They are fun and don't completely wreck your healthy eating. Here's a link to the nutrition info: http://www.tootsie.com/health.php?pid=168
But if you want healthier alternatives, I like to pack dry roasted peanuts, almonds, baby carrots and peanut butter & jelly sandwiches. Drink a lot of water, it will help you feel full.

Since you will be sitting the entire time, naturally, you wont be working up much of an appetite. The rate at which food is burned off has to be dramatically slowed down. If i were you, i would have a slightly smaller portion and lower the carbohydrates slightly.

sure those foods are healthy, but peanuts, almonds and jelly are all calorie dense foods...VERY easy to rack up the calories when your snacking on them. id reccomend some veggies in a lite dip or some hummus. very low in cals but its an awesome and suprsingly filling snack. if your going anywhere interesting on your roadtrip id suggest trying some unique food or just enjoying yourself.

you won't gain fat or lose muscle in one day. the picture is much larger than one day of nutrition and inactivity. but if you're really stressed about it, i like beef jerky or hard boiled eggs in these situations.

it is just one day. but i like to slice up some apples and put them in water with a little lemon juice (so they dont brown) then take some protein powder and mix it up with a tbsp pb and a lil water and create a dip. if you dont want the pb in it just mix your protein w/water untill kind of think. its healthy and will keep you pretty full. if not bring some more veggies like others have said.
