What a journey it has been!
Wow! What can I say? Well I can say with certainty that I have become a different person for the better. I have managed to learn so much about myself! This experience has become so much more gratifying than just the physical aspect of it. It has taught me to shoot for the stars in every aspect of my life. I can't begin to describe what an exhilarating and encouraging experience this has been.
Re-cap from the show:
Saturday morning came really fast! I couldn't believe that it had been 21 wks since this journey had begun. Wow time flies!! Well we got the venue and I was feeling pretty good. We checked in and I was told that there were 12 girls in my class. As the morning progressed I managed to stay calm and relaxed. I actually got to sit down and talk to a bunch of the girls, all of which were so nice. I really enjoyed myself. We shared stories and got to know each other. Pre-judging came and I was in the first call out. I tried my best to hit all my poses and keep smiling. It was a tough group of girls, so I knew I had to keep it going as best as I could. I felt pretty good afterwards, I was glad that it was done and over with and I was ready for the night show!!
At the night show I got the chance to sit down and enjoy part of the show and cheer on other members of the Team. I do remember that in a figure class a girl whom had previously placed 4th in a class ended up winning another, among basically the same group of girls. So right then and there I was expecting the unexpected. I knew that I could have been placed anywhere from 1-6. (That was the amount of girls in the first call out).
So when the time came I went out did my T-walk and then to my surprise they called my name to come out on to the stage. Well when I walked out there was Layne standing with a huge bouquet of flowers. It was the sweetest thing ever! The announcer congratulated us on our anniversary. It brought tears to my eyes!!At the point I could have cared less where I placed! LOL!!! I placed 5th. Walked off the stage and had a very delicious muffin that Kera was so kind to bake for me! Thanks Kera!!
I spoke to a few of the judges afterwards and they all basically said the same thing, that I had one of the best if not the best symmetry out of all the girls, my presentation was outstanding and that I needed to get my lower body leaner. Not any shocking news. I thanked them for their comments and I was ready to eat!!! We went to PFChangs for dinner and I had fried rice, scallops and cheesecake!!! It was delicious! Sunday morning we went to breakfast with my in-laws and some family members who live in Indy and had an omelets and pancakes! I was a very happy camper.
Today I am back on the wagon, I want to reverse my diet slowly and do it right. I want to put on the right kind of weight. I have a few weddings to attend this summer and plus it is summer so shorts and bathing suits are in order.
I want to say thanks to Tommy and Kera! Kera thanks for the muffins and for helping out so much backstage!! We love you guys!!!
To my family and my hubby. Layne, honey I can not begin to thank you enough, but I'm sure we can figure out some sort of compensation.
To the rest of the Team and to all you who have encouraged and supported me throughout this incredible journey, my sincerest gratitude goes out to you!
I plan to continue to log my journey as I stride to improve my physique as much as I can. With this said, will I compete again, someday for the time being I plan to hit the gym hard and see what the future holds.

Congrats on a fantastic season, Izzie! You must be so proud of your accomplishments! Following along all of these weeks (and it did go by fast!) of your prep has been very motivating and inspiring for me, I'm sure as well to so many others on bb.com.
Now you get to relax a bit & enjoy the summer...in the best shape of your life! Have fun!

Izzy,
It was an honor to meet you in Columbus when you were 8-9 weeks out from your first show, and to see your physique in the gym on that night to what you stepped on stage with in your facebook pictures shows the hard work and dedication you brought to the table to get into the best shape of your life.
Not only do you have one of the best husbands in the world in Layne, but the act he did when he got you the flowers for the anniversary was classic. You should be blessed to know you have a great physique, a great future ahead of you, and by your side you have one of the most driven and knowledgeable resources when it comes to bodybuilding, diet, and training.
Never change your ways, continue to work hard and strive to break new goals weather they are short or long term You will overcome them. And next time to you get up on stage we can all guarantee the results will come out better.
Lastly, I will always be following along so until we meet up again in Columbus (if you are the Arnold next year) we will have to get back at the Metro and get another session in...
Just remember one thing... Dont make us look back with those lat spreads ya heard ?

Well I have been a tad bit MIA lately. What can I say I am still recovering! LOL!!
I want to thank you all who took the time and stopped by my thread. I appreciate all your kind comments and compliments. They truly mean the world to me.
Since the last show I have been slowly transitioning to the off season. I have managed to keep my weight in check. I've gained 2 lbs since the last show, so I'm pretty happy with that. I also cut back on my cardio to give my knee a break.
The first week after my show, I felt sort of lost. I didn't really have a set schedule of lifting and I just went with whatever I felt like. I did train my upper and lower body twice that week and took 2 days completely off.
This past week I started back with my power/hypertrophy workouts. I did legs (power) on Monday with HIIT. Tuesday was upper (power) body day. I did some rack chins that day and boy did I miss those. I actually got a pump in my back. Wed I took off and on Thursdays I am actually training with my hubby. This is the first time in a very long time that we have been able to train the same body parts. We did shoulders/bis and tris.
Today (Fri) it's leg night and HIIT. Tomorrow will be back/chest and Sunday off.
So that's what my workouts are basically going to look like for the next few weeks. I'm hoping to gain strength back slowly but surely and I am looking forward to breaking some PRs this summer.
I will start tracking my workouts next week and posting them like I use to.
Thanks again everyone!!

You've only gained 2lbs! Wow Great work. I'm interested to see how I will do after my show. You always hear the stories of how people just let loose and gain like loads back right away. I plan to take it slow.
Cant wait to follow along in the off season and see some big PR's

Thanks hun! I am very pleased with my weight gain. I can't imagine gaining all that weight back in such a short period of time. I have not really restricted myself that much, I am sticking to the foods that I was eating before but maybe eating a tad bit more. I am also giving myself one meal a week. So basically I can go out to lunch or dinner with a friend and not have to be so meticulous. I can sit back and relax. The key is making healthy choices.

Catching up!
Well this past few days have been really hectic. But I have managed to hit all my workout and I am extremely happy with my weight gain. Yesterday I weighed what I did on contest day and today I was a pound lighter.
Friday's highlight: I did occlusion training for my quads. WOW!! Talk about a pump. My knees were really bothering me and we are really trying to give my joints a break so we decided to go with ligther weights but still get the pump and benefit of a hypertrophy workout. So I did 3 sets of 15 reps with 95 lbs. LOVED IT!!!
Saturday-Amy Sedlatschek (AKA Amysuds) came down and trained with me and Layne. We also filmed what is going to be an episode of Inside the Life of a Natural Pro for BB.com.
We had a blast! I wish we lived closer so that we could do it more often.
We trained upper body-Shoulder/Bis and Tris.
Our good friend Jeremy was in town and he is looking lean! Talk about quad separation. Keep rockin' Jeremy!!
Sunday-Took the day off.

If you're still eating the Trioplex cookies and are a pound lighter, I may just HAVE to join TEAM NORTON
You're awesome Izzie!!!

Absolutely, those videos are awesome, detailed with great information. Glad to see you are right back on track and have a good head on your shoulders about the post-contest rebound.

hahaha! Thanks Jaime! I love those cookies! I still eat them, at least one pack every day!
Yeah so far so good, I have been trying to enjoy my foods but still keeping within in reason. I worked too darn hard to loose those inches to let them creep back in there.
What can I say TEAM NORTON ROCKS!!!

Thanks Bob! Not only do I have a good head on my shoulders but I have the world's best coach!
He has been sooo supportive and encouraging, he is the little voice in my head. I am definitely enjoying the off season. Still combating the tiered feeling but overall trying to hit it hard.
