Question about antibiotics and fat burners...

This is a weird question, and probably stupid, but bear with me. I went to the Dr yesterday and I have a bacterial infection AND a bladder infection. She put me on antibiotics and told me to stay away from caffeinated drinks. Which I usually do anyways besides a coffee hear and there but I'm taking mitotropin and was wondering if I should stop taking it until this clears up??

I know it's not liquid but just wondering if ANY type of caffeine affects it. I am DYING! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Personally, I would avoid taking anything except basic vitamins while on anti-biotics. There are a lot of things which can affect them, and if you must take them, you want them to work as well as possible. Oh, stay off grapefruit, it interacts with an amazing number of drugs.

You'd really need to contact your doc to figure out what her point in telling you to avoid caffeinated beverages was, but considering your conditions, I'm guessing it's the diuretic effect she's trying to avoid so I'd back off of any supplement that requires you to consume extra water (but keep consuming that extra water ) until your infection clears up.

Awesome.. Thanks ladies! I think I will just stay off of it until next week. Which is no fun, because I could really use the energy but it's worth it. Thanks for the advice.. and I didn't know that about grapefruits. Good to know!

Thumbs down You are right...STUPID QUESTION

Wow. Okay so the doctor said to stop ingesting caffeinated drinks SOOOOOOOOO common sense would be to avoid products that have....that's right CAFFEINE.

Okay not that wasn't so hard was it

Furthermore, why would you ask on a forum? Pick up the dang phone and call your doctor or a pharmacy. Too lazy to move from the computer...try webMD

You get a thumbs down for rushing to post a ridiculous question instead of using your critical thinking skills.
