haha, sometimes things work out in a great way when you're not planning on anything. awesome job on the bench, it's always a great feeling when you go back to something you haven't hit in a while and it goes up like air! then again, that's what keeps you motivated are days like today.
sweet job on the bench. the GVT has paid off!
Thanks, man. Again, I'm happy with this. Even more happy that it seems that GVT wasn't a waste of time, either!

Yeah, I'm planning to give one of my football hypetrophy training programs a go. It will help me through the next few weeks of cutting

its cool that your into functional strength i used to box and i was a member at rosstraining forums. Good **** there i ordered one of his books for cardio work.
What are your overall thoughts on GVT for you personally Kurt?
For me, personally. I loved it. What I would change about it is only do it for six weeks. 8 weeks of 10 x 10 is rather, well, repetitive to say the least. Do I think I saw positive results from it? I'm def thinking so. But I will let the pics judge that.

I didn't do much functional strength stuff on GVT, due for a few reasons.
How were the Ross Training books? I've been always eying 'em up, and considering purchasing them.

i ordered infinite intensity, it was a good purchase imo. so many different cardio and strength workouts so you dont get bored, theyre really intense though.

You make intensity sound like a bad thing at the gym

Oh wow, it's been a long time since I visited you... I'm sorry!!! I've missed this place! haha.
Lots of volume is right... great workout! Nice job on everything. I love the detail you put into logging all your workouts. Good notes to have, since so many factors can impact your performance in the gym.
Hope you're having a good week!! I'll be stopping by more often, I promise.

Thanks. As one of my profs said, too many people don't understand all the external factors which influence a workout, nor address 'em. So I thought I would put 'em up to see how if there is a difference at all

Kurtford! Long time no drop-in much! Looking sexy, as always . SO, I can't help but notice you have taken up GVT. I am about to start the program myself. I also can't help but notice that you did it in a fashion that is not actually GVT. Isn't GVT 10 sets of one exercise superset with 10 sets of the antagonist muscle group? How long have you been dooing it for, anyway? Did you do the suggested cycles and then change it up? (Yes, I am sounding like a douche right now, but mostly because I am super interested in this program and wanna make sure I am not missing out on something before I start it.)

Oh, Ben. You never sound like a douche. You're always about typing a lot, which is just who you are.
I seriously liked it. And how I learned what GVT was one set of a compound exercise (usually one of the big 3) and then some accessory work afterwards. I never learned the agonist and antagonist approach. I did it for about 8 weeks. On the last two weeks, I drew bored of it, and just sought methods to change it up. I'm sure if I did it for only 6 weeks, that would be the optimal length for me. I didn't follow any suggested cycles. However, I did learn there are more advanced GVT methods out there. They work as each weeks progressed you lift more of your 1RM or something
And I missed you
Fun fact: One of my players and a friend got into chiro in Ontario (I forget the school's name)

Awesome pressing man, definitely the Kurt style I'm used to. High volume, big numbers, and not very much rest between sets. Keep it coming, I'm diggin it!

Ok, cool. I am just going by the original program brought to popularity by Poliquin, which does supersets. Tell your friend if he wants any advice about Chiro school to give me a shout. add me on Facebook or something and mention your name. CMCC (the one he is going to) is a good school for research and integrated health for sure.
, Oh, and I missed you too. I wish I had time to sit around on these forums for hours on end likeI used to. But Alas, I don't even own a TV anymore
