If you are never able to use weights again in your life, no worries check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWs94Pu_kG4 those guys are fit as hell and its amazing what moves they can do as well.
Last of all have you heard of p90x? I'm doing that workout program along with weight training routines. Your Ab workouts sound good but you should try doing Ab Ripper X from p90x, its an intense 15 minutes of Ab Workouts. How many times a week do you train abs and for how long? Keep up the good work Nick. Your my inspiration.

Hey bro, thanks! I try to stay on top of it best I can. I've been eating a little more lately since I am trying to gain up right now..and it's been fun lol, eating is always fun. Sugar alcohols aren't entirely bad, like the devil..you just don't want too many. Too much of anything is always bad..except money of course
I have heard of P90x..but do not know too much about it. I currently train abs every other day for about 20-25 mins..usually doing 3 routines..I switch up the routines every other day for abs.
I appreciate the kind words bro!

I appreciate the kind words dude, thank you! I did deads awhile back...but hurt my back around the time I was doing them, so I stopped and never re-introduced them back into my routine..I may in the future..

Wow that is a while ago. I am suprised you taken the time to answer it. Thanks man that tickles me on the inside. lol. Anyway My goal is always changing. I may take on bodybuilding as a career or I may not and I may stya natural or I may not. But I also have thoughts about going to the Navy or the Marines to help pay for college. That advice you gavce me is exactly what I would have said to myself or anyone if I wasn't so clouded to see through clearly. Thanks Nick. You truly one of a kind.

There was a study done on rats to test the efficiency of the kidneys and how well they handle massive amounts of protein. The amount that they gave the rats was a ratio to bodyweight equal to about 10x's the rda for a human. The results showed that the protein was all utilized efficiently and no problems arose with the kidneys.
Since I read that.. I have not gone a day under 350 grams a day.. Sometimes to 450.. I weigh 175.. Have had many checkups in our exercise science lab and I'm as healthy as a horse. Take my word.. If somebody tries to feed you silly info about how your kidneys are gonna fail from our nutrition, their just haters, IMO..
My roommate is one of them who shakes his head at my daily diet. The difference btw me and him though.. I'm a model.. And he's still messing with detox diets..
If you're still weary about protein consumption, just drink like 20 oz of water with every 30-50 grams.. Keeps everything moving nicely.

They stopped feeling sore after awhile when I used to train them everyday..So I switched to training them every other day and this is what I have stuck with for awhile. This works out perfectly now and leaves me feeling sore the next day in the core area..It also allows me to focus on that particular muscle group I am training that day.

I usually stick to behind the back wrist curls, wrist curls, and reverse wrist curls..Forearms will get worked a little on bi day and tri day as well..not directly but indirectly.

Off the top of my head I think it's about 2800-2900 roughly...don't really know the exact amount..but I am guessing it is around there..I will have to calculate all of my macros.

Hey dude, thanks!..I know this questions was posted awhile back as well as all the questions I am about to answer, but I try to get back to everyone in the order they are received..same with PM's and comments, so thanks for hangin in there bro! Right now I am eating a lot of food and really need to sit down and look at exactly how many cals I am taking in, this weekend I will post the exact amount of macros I am taking in..I am a definite hardgainer...so eating and eating enough to gain is very important.

I have a question though, how many calories do you consume in a day? Since you're building muscle wouldn't you be consuming a lot in order to build? Or are you gaining while burning fat?
How much water do you consume?
|
Thanks dude! Check out the first question in this post, I'll sit down this weekend and get down the exact macros. I have really upped my cals even more this past week and will fill out my diet and routine for tomorrow, tomorrow night..been eating even more chicken and beef lately. I'm currently gaining lean muscle while keeping the BF% down best I can..as long as the abs are there, I'm happy..and as long as the muscle keeps comin on, I'm happy as well, that just takes a little more time since I am a MAJOR hardgainer.
I drink about a gallon of water a day roughly.

I think they are great, I just never really threw them into my routine..I tend to keep things pretty simple 12-10-8-12 rep ranges with about 4 sets..this has been a routine I've stuck to for awhile..if anything, I'll switch up the rep ranges a little.

Even if I weren't sponsored by CL, I would still recommend CL to anyone who is looking to step things up in the gym..and long before I was sponsored by CL I was recommending CL to all my friends and clients. I honestly believe their supps are some of the best and most effective supps out there, no bull****. My strength has gone up tremendously over the past year, endurance has gone up, and my physique has changed all around for the better..Yes, it is a mixture of diet, training, supps, and dedication..but the supps are definitely helping me improve and get to the next level.

Hey Chris, I'll cycle off Green Mag\Green Bulge every couple bottles of GB or tub of GM just for about 2-3 weeks and then I'll hop back on, there really is no need to cycle off the creatine, it's just something I have always done. With White Flood, I throw down a tub and then take a couple weeks off and then get back on again, with the tablets of WF, same deal. Usually between all the CL supps I take, it's usually 2 weeks to 4 weeks I'll take off.
Hope this helps a bit bro, and thanks for the kind words dude.

and yeah i was getting into those pure protein bars for a little. now that im cutting the only bar i eat is LARAbar's. totally unprocessed and great source of fat.
|
It used to be hard to put down, but the new GG seems to be more granulated and easy to put down. I have no problem at all with it and think it's a kick ass supplement!..Can't wait to get back on it!
I love those Pure Protein bars! I'll have to check out those Labrada bars!

I do 9 sets for each muscle (bi's and tri's), and Im thinking about cutting biceps down to 6 sets because I feel that on back day, they get a good pump.
|
I personally don't think it's too much, I've just always liked to completely murder the muscle you are training till you absolutely have nothing left in it. I keep all my muscle group training within the same amount of sets..once in awhile I'll throw in a couple extra sets to exhaust those muscles.

Do you like White Flood tablets or powder better? I also just ordered some White Flood powder (which I've never used before) but the White Flood tablets that come in the free sample worked really well for me. Tabs or Powder?
Congrats on the new sponsor too keep rockin.
|
What up dude! I love GG, and am about to start up a new tub within the next couple weeks! It really does bring the results and the best thing is that GG lasts forever!
I think White Flood tablets and powder are both great!..and I switch off between the two, can't really say one works better than the other, they both give me that crazy blast of energy and pump I look forward to every day I train. Gotta be top 3 on my favorite supps list.
..and thanks for the congrats dude, much appreciated.

Hey bro, I just wanted to stop by and thank you for the great journal and for being a true inspiration. I started following your journal in 2008 while on deployment in Iraq. I just about learned everything from reading this journal. I was able to figure out an effective workout plan, by following a similar training week. I just broke the days down into a different order, and chose my own exercises. Your profile was the one that started it all for me! I wasn't serious about bodybuilding and was ready to throw in the towel, till I saw how lean and incredible your physique was. I saw what you were able to achieve! I'm only 165 myself. Way to stick up for the hardgainers! I use to be a hardcore alcoholic, but after reading how you kept natural, I haven't touched alcohol since and don't plan to! I've only been at it for about a year. But I hope to get leaner! I also learned about controlled labs from you, and it's all I've been using. Well, thanks for everything, it's really appreciated!

So for mass gains, do you feel it is more important to hit a muscle with 20+ sets or to consistently add weight to the bar each workout (If you had to choose between one or the other)?
