If a person has to lie about it or keep it from their significant other then it's wrong! A person can cheat emotionally and not just physically. People tend to find they already have what they are branching out to find....they just can't see it until it's too late because they spend more time looking at the negative about that person than the positive. No way on the hanging out with friends of the opposite sex! I have male coworkers I am friends with AT WORK..they already know when work is over my time is for God and the person I love. I was just raised to not hang around men because it always makes people think and can lead to some costly spontaneous decisions!

How is that a "vibe" that I am sending out? I had tunnel vision for only my man.

Does nothing include finding out whether a new partner is open to a relationship with you?

Is it considered an affair if you put less than 100% into your relationship in order to spend time finding another one?

Is hanging out a good way to test the waters while your ambivalent partner sits at home trusting you?

Worst case:
This 'hanging out' allows one person to not only mentally break up with their SO but spend time finding a new relationship without losing the benefits of the current one. When the SO gets wind of it and becomes suspiscious or jealous it allows the cheater to initiate a breakup on their terms and slander the faithful SO about being jealous/overcontrolling because 'we are just friends'.
