P90x
Hey, I just completed my first workout yesterday (P90X). Keep in touch if you would and let me know how it is going for you.
Take care,
Deb

As for my diet I am trying to do phase one fat burner. It just seems like a low carb diet. I really need to count my calories to make sure it is in line. I am afraid of eating too little. I would rather eat a little more than too little.
I will be starting week 2 on friday. I work funny hours so that is why I start my workouts on fridays.
Any tips from fellow p90xers are all welcome. Any input would be awesome.

Better stamina as well as lower bodyfat% will help you when your trying to bulk.

I just did the first day - and it was awesome. I was a little intimidated, but once I did it, and the sweat was dripping, and the heart was pumping I felt great. Like I could take on the world. It was so intense but fun to do.

I am going to be starting this soon myself. I have a door frame pull up bar, but I hate it because the door frame is short so I end up hanging on my knees. So I am going the extra mile and installing a pull up bar in my garage from the ceiling. This way I have all the room in the world + I can do the varoius grips. You can't do wide grip with a doorframe version.
I also have limited equipment, but I hope enough to do everything. I don't have yoga blocks, but I do have a dumbell set (weider) with changable weights. I also have 2 resistance bands (not sure of their lb limits).
So between the weights, bands, and chin up bar...I should be good to go, right? I don't have a workout mat, so I probably need to get one of those. In the meantime before starting the program...I have been running 2-3 times a week and doing pushups/situps at night.
Here are some pics of me prior to starting this program. I hope to get tone/lean but defined and hopefully looking bigger then I do now.
Mateo, would love to hear your thoughts, as well as others in here.
thanks

I've gone through 2 rounds. Yoga was the most difficult routine for me at first, but if you keep at it you'll get better from week to week. I can do just about everything now in the Yoga routine.
Plus, when I did skip the Yoga routine, I found my body ached a lot more. So keep doing the Yoga to help with recovery.
You WILL gain stength if you keep at it, although I started to outgrow the leg routine after the first round and I started doing some heavy squats/deadlifts before doing the leg/back routine.
I'm taking a break for a while and bulking up for a few months, but will probably go back and do another round of P90X after summer.

Just stick with it! I have met a few people who have had excellent results because they followed the program religiously. Crazy how yoga whoops butt huh?! I added it a few weeks ago and I've improved my 3 mile run time by 3:30. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

I tend to try and do deep stretching on my own from time to time..so I am hoping the yoga routine won't kick my butt as much as other people.

I just finished the first workout of week three. Which is chest/back and ab ripperX. I can honestly say that i am getting better at these workouts. I recover quicker and am able to do more reps like the crazies on the videos.

It has really blown up in here guys, this is great. Its nice for you all to keep me motivated. What are you fellow p90x'ers eating for breakfast? Im trying to eat about 1800 calories a day. And if I feel wiped during the workouts i will add some more calories.
Its kind of hard to choose the right weight during the weight days. A lot of the time its to light. Also I suck at pullups. The bands seem to easy. Im about ready to go to my home gym in the basement and hit the lat pulldowns LOL!

Just finished another plyometrics workout guys. I was wondering what everyones heart rate is at? During plyometrics its steady at 150-160 bpm. What are you guys doing for a recovery drink. Im just eating simple sugars to replace my glycogen.

Im on week four now. This week is mostly slower paced stretching type of workouts. Yoga kicks my butt. You guys have any tips for yoga? A lot of the time I don't finish all of it. Its just hard to get into.

Okay guys im here to say that i fell off the p90x wagon. I got the flu pretty bad about mid june and just took a break but havent worked out since then. I got lazy with being on vacation and all. I left off at week 5-ish. Should I continue on week five or start over?
