Toese's 1st Competition Journal
I just went and saw an NPC bodybuilding/figure competition here in Oregon and 3 of my friends competed in it.
I was so inspired so I want to do the Seven Feathers competition Oct. 11th.
This will be my first.
I'm a spinning instructor at a gym here. I teach 4 classes a week and I take 2 Group Power classes a week. Just from doing that Group power class gave me my muscles that you see in my profile.
What I want to work on though are my abs and glutes. My abs are so week plus I have that extra skin from pregnancies. My glutes can use some help as well.
I am open to all suggestions on training. I need all the help I can get so PLEASE feel free to just come in here and talk to me!!!
I'm 5'0 between 107-110lbs. I have a hard time losing weight. I was stuck at 130 for the longest time and finally lost the pounds not too long ago. I tend to gain weight fairly easy.
My quads are on the big side but would like to have more definition instead of bulk.
I'm also training for the Head to Coast Relay Race which is at the end of Aug.
Please feel free to comment!!!

ok ... so I haven't been back here since last year.
I did not do the Seven Feathers competition last year. I felt like I wasn't ready for it so I decided to do May 16th 2009 Oregon Ironman instead.
I have 1 week to go and I'm very nervous. I have stage fright!
The funny thing is that I'm not so nervous about the prejudging but more for the night show when they introduce me and I have to walk out there all by myself all the while my friends and family will be out there hootin and hollerin. They will be seeing me in a teensy weensy bikini in 5" heels. Thats what I'm most nervous about.
My husband did the Seven Feathers comp last year for his first time and he got 1st place in his division. He did everything by himself. He's his own coach and I'm very proud of him.
Wish me luck!!

Good Luck!! It will be YOUR moment when you step on that stage and your friends and family will all be so proud of you and all your hard work....enjoy the moment! I bet as soon as you step on stage all the nerves will disappear and you will have a great time
I've never competed, but I'm a seasoned performer (danced in front of 60,000 people live, and also on live national TV), so I know what it's like to be nervous before you go on stage..but you look great, and you will ROCK THE STAGE!!

Thanks guys!!!
I think I have a problem of nervousness. When I was a candle lighter in a wedding (long time ago) I was so nervous my arm was shaking and I just couldn't light the dang candles. I shake, I can't see and I can't hear. It's like being in another world or something. But I'm trying to conquer this fear.
3 More days left till my competition. Food portions are getting smaller. So far I'm ok by not eating many carbs. I'm so used to dieting that it doesn't bother me too much. I just miss eating my snacks.
I lost a pound. I'm down to 106 now. Hopefully it came from my butt.
I'm dieing to find out who my competitors are. I'm so competitive .... sometimes it isn't a good thing cuz I would rather just relax and have fun instead of worrying who is in my height class.

Congratulations on your decision to compete...it is a BLAST!! You're going to love it!
My suggestion, hire a trainer that has trained competitors...prepping for a show is very scientific and being show ready take experience. Good luck!

I will be leaving late afternoon to get to Lincoln City today. I get my spray tan done tonight.
I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I just hope and pray I won't trip or shake on the stage. I also hope I know what I am doing!!!
I will post my results when I get back on Sunday or Monday!!!

I got 3rd out of 12 in my class. I was the only amateur and I was the shortest one.
I was told that my quads are over powering my physique. I always had big quads and small shoulders. I just have to work harder to bring my shoulders and back bigger.
Anyways, I learned a lot and now I know what to expect. The girls were nice there and I reognized them from the past competitions in pictures so it was neat to be competing with them. Here are some photos.
