My new life starting today.
Ok so all throughout grammar school and high school I was the fat ass. Everyone made fun of me and it sucked. I wanted to start over so the summer before college, I busted my ass in the gym with a workout plan and diet plan from muscle and fitness. Within a couple of months I looked nothing like the person I knew and loved it. I dropped 50 pounds, my arms were busting out of my t shirts, I finally had a six pack, and could keep up with anyone in any sport I played. It was awesome. This past year I let everything go. I lost my job, I messed up in school, started smoking heavily and would eat anything put in front of me. Now I want to throw up every time I see myself. Im 6'2 250lbs. Ive realized these past few weeks that feeling bad for yourself and wishing certain things will never happen. That is why im posting this. Im GOING to make it happen. Starting now. My diet starts again tomorrow, im going to go running on the beach in the morning. Lift weights tomorrow night and hopefully (most important) quit smoking cold turkey. My goal is to get down to 200lbs. Im not setting a timeframe yet because I dont know how fast Im going to be dropping the weight. Does anyone have any advice? Tips? Words of encouragement? I also just wanted to say that every single person on this site is an inspiration to me for wanting to achieve better.

I'ma tell you one of the most important things you will hear.
You will cheat on your diet. You will skip going to the gym. You will go weeks without seeing any change at all. You will feel like **** at first, and will feel exhausted after workouts.
It's not easy, its a ****ing hard thing to do. Just remember, everyone here has done what I said you will do and are still going. So when you **** up, learn from it and keep plugging away at it.
Also, watch this video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myDYE49KPlQ&eurl
It's a lifestyle change, when you are done, if you are successfull, you will be eating healthier, with more energy and a happiness that only comes from perseverance over your perceived flaws. Keep pushing for it.

You words alone are inspiring. I hope you do achieve your goal. And I hope you do it well. Get back to the body you were in. I agree with the person above. Just think about.
But really.
Good luck with what you do. And keep us (me) updated!.

I rarely post but I definitely wanted to give you some encouragement.
You've already made a transformation before so you can and WILL do it again. Sounds like you're already on your way. Like others have said we all have our ups and downs but in the long run just stay committed and do it for yourself.
and you live by the beach!! enough of a motivation right there. Good Luck OP. You don't need good luck, actually, Congratulations already on making the choice.

I'm glad you decided to take care of this before it gets too far out of hand. I should have done the same thing a long time ago.
If you slip on your diet, don't be too hard on yourself for it. It happens, just get back to the routine of better eating and keep progressing.
I've never been a smoker, but you may be better off to lose the weight and then stop smoking. I know it has to be hard to quit smoking and lose weight too. Good luck and keep us updated.

Look at the longterm and make it fun for you.
The days with less food, no smoking, and lots of exercise will take a toll on you.

Run before breakfast, if you're really interested in losing weight.
From one of Layne Norton's articles:
"Do 45 minutes of low intensity cardio (walking) 3 days a week in the morning BEFORE BREAKFAST! This is a very overlooked part of the cutting process, cardio will really get you shredded. Doing it in the morning before breakfast has two benefit over cardio at any other time of the day.
Since you've gone 8 hours without any nutrients your glycogen levels will already be very low and all you're body will be able to use for energy will be your stored body fat.
Numerous studies show doing cardio in the morning before breakfast stimulates a greater than normal release of growth hormone and also keep growth hormone levels elevated throughout the day. Growth hormone is one of the most powerful fat burning hormones in the body so you can see plainly why doing cardio before breakfast is a huge plus!"
