Best wishes this weekend Joe! You look AWESOME and will do well. Again, you look like a completely different bodybuilder from the last time. Congrats!
Thanks Rich, I'll be following the same protocol all off-season to lean out the rest of the way for next year. My goal is to compete in the 180's. Ambitious, but I like to set my standards high.

I hate to shave too--it takes me so long. I think I have about the same. I'm taking the day off of work tomorrow to get ready and rest plus I have to have my wife apply the pro-tan--she hates it. I'll see you at the show.

How many people do you have in your class? I have nine total.
Hey guys, I played around with the water last night. Not a good idea. I ended up looking like a water balloon. I went for a walk flexing for an hour last night to move it. I look better this morning, but flat. I'll eat my normal salmon and salad diet to fill back out plus 2 cups of rice cooked. I'll also lower water to around 1 gallon since I'm not sweating from workouts. 2 gallons was too high when I wasn't working out and caused me to look REALLY watery. I was on edge of water poisoning.
Things do need to be monitored closely during peak week if you are not doing your normal sweaty workouts. You can bet things will need to be slightly tweaked if you are resting during peak week, but nothing too extreme.
Lesson learned....

Round one was VERY close between multiple people. We'll see what happens at the night show. It is hard to say who won what. We were all moved around a lot and we all had things that the other didn't. It was fun though!

in for updates! Unfortunately I missed it today..had to scout 2 teams up in Brainerd. Regardless of the outcome I know you had a blast and looked good doin it.
I ended up 4th out of 9. I knew it was a tough show. My posing got me to 4th. My conditioning wasn't up to par for this level show to place any higher. I'll get back to the drawing board and get ready for 2010. No regrets. It was fun! I'll get some pictures up as soon as they get posted.
I had a burger after the show and I think it going to kill me. My gut just isn't geared for grease anymore.
I'm headed for bed.

I'll leave most of the updates to Joe, but give you guys a little something.
Joe was in the toughest class in the competition. To say they were rearranged a lot during prejudging is a huge understatement!!! It was crazy how they were moving people around. Joe was thrown all over the field, including the coveted middle spot!
Sorry we didn't get to meet, Joe! I was looking for you, but it was a packed house! Ironically, I ended up sitting by some of your cheering section for the finals. It was a guy that you work with...I didn't catch his name, though.
I stupidly forgot to bring my video camera...but my wife got your routine on her phone, so I have a rough copy of it, that I can put up tomorrow if you don't have one.
You did great, Joe!
Hope you enjoyed your celebratory FEAST!
edit: I was too slow!
I had you in third, personally. The guy that won was just insane and I knew he's be the overall without even seeing the rest of the field.

Its been a successful day joe! dont hang your head at all bud, we are all proud of you! take from the show your weaknesses and attack them in the offseason! You gave it your all and thats all we can ask for.
Joe, the last couple of months of your prep log have been nothing but inspiring. The changes you made to your physique and your posing were great. I was just looking over your pics from last year and regardless of placing you should be EXTREMELY proud of how far you have come in just a year!!!!!
Get back to that drawing board, I can't wait to see what 2010 brings.

Alright Joe,..having the overall in your class and coming in fourth says alot about the competition you faced! If I could say one thing,..your last few pics during the last phases of your prep,..you didnt seem to be leaning out as much as I would have liked to see. I think this may have kept you from doing much better. Sometimes we get intimidated when we see the scale drop and and feel keeping mass is better than letting the diet get us shredded. I think you could have come in about 5-10lbs. lighter (shredded). I hope you don't mind the objective criticism. Good Job!

Congrats Joe, sounds like you really held your own out there in spite of the stiff competition. I have truly enjoyed following your prep - you should be very proud of your progress and the changes you have made. Best of luck in your offseason man, hope you continue to log progress - I would love the opportunity to follow it!

Put up the routine. I'm interested to see how it looked. I've never seen it personally. I went by what my posing coach said to do. He said yay or nay and I trusted him.

Thanks man, I'll be following your progress. I'll be back in 2010 leaner and with more of a posing arsenal.

Thanks for the criticism. I'll come back next year bigger and better. I agree with you.
I more excited to see how I can bring up my weaknesses with my improved diet arsenal. This show was about understanding the diet and the posing. 2010 is about improving overall leanness and bringing up weaknesses.

Thanks, I'll have progress pictures in my bodyspace of the off-season progress. I have too many projects I had to neglect during this prep that need taken care of to keep a log. Keep in school. You are on the right path.

You know it. Everyday is a battle as a competitive bodybuilder. Never quit. Just keep pushing harder.

It is a pretty low quality video, but you'll get the general gist of it. Like I said, it was with her camera phone, and it ended up being sideways and a bit shaky at first.
But here it is guys: Joe's posing routine! Enjoy!

You're a winner. You gave it all you had. From the video j-bo posted, your posing was excellent. Knowing you had a burger afterward confirms to me that you're still human What's next, watching a movie? Anyway, I had a beer to celebrate for you too.
For what it's worth, watching that was really motivating.
