Well, maybe not to the pound, but Bounce is the Long Beach nightclub that caters specially to plus-sized people, the Whittier Daily News reported.

"Club Bounce is a size-acceptance nightclub," said club owner Lisa Marie Garbo, 40. "People of larger shapes and sizes can go and feel comfortable, accepted and desired and not feel like they're second-class citizens for being overweight."

Bounce, on the Pacific Coast Highway, is only a weekend deal, but it's a success: Garbo has opened another location in Phoenix, AZ, and plans to open one in Hollywood.

Garbo, who says she's a distant cousin of the Hollywood legend Greta, believes that overweight people are the last group against which discrimination is still accepted.

"There's no sensitivity, there's no understanding," she told the paper. "[People] can make fun of you and nothing will happen to them for it."

That is heavy.

I wouldn't go either, but I think its a great idea and place for people to go who may feel self concious.
Im not over weight, but I dont really like going to top 40 clubs because a lot of people (NOT all) that go seem to be very shallow/fake/and external. Not my thing, and I could see how someone over weight may not want to be amongst those types of people.

Being fat is one of the few things that people are discriminated for that they can actually change. They deserve to be discriminated against, maybe that will motivate them get their fat ass in gear.

*Excluding thyroid problems, which most people just lie about to make excuses for their fatness. My aunt had a thyroid problem and gained 50 lbs in 3 months eating the same food as always, now THAT is a thyroid problem.

i say their "nightclubs" should be filled with weights, trainers and other exercise equipment accompanied with loud, trendy house music with glow sticks, disco balls and skinny hot chicks in elevated cages for that nightclub feel, but really, it's just a gym in the ultimate disguise.

Wait, so first they say that fat people are the last group it is ok to discriminate against and then they have a picture of a "Skinny Bitches are Evil" t-shirt? That seems a bit hypocritical doesn't it?

I can see both sides of this. If I was a large woman I'm sure it would be really depressing to go to a club where there are a bunch of hotter skinny women. It's kind of nice there is a place catering to them where they can feel like they can be themselves and have fun without that social pressure. But at the same time, I think that it is a dangerous line of thought to say there is nothing wrong with being severely overweight. If they have a place where they can seclude themselves they are less likely to be motivated to make changes to their lifestyle when it comes to health and fitness.
