wow... complaining about two weeks.
My sh*t has been AT the border for well over a month...
It's taking so long this time of year cuz of christmass, and the Canadian border is lazy as fuk.
But really... I think a month's wait at the border is rediculas.
i know it's not bb.com's fault, and I order with this delay accounted for, but I live in Calgary now, it's really not that far from the border.
Every time it takes this long too... it's not just a one time thing, I think that they should have a better system, I mean think of how many (millions) of dollars of orders come through the border, the same sh*t over and over again, can't they come to realize this instead of having to check the paperwork and contents every time?
I ordered my stuff nov 2nd, nothing special, some ZMA, multi, straps and cytosport protien, it's over a month and nothing. Customs needs to get their ass in gear.
/done rant. for now. Will come back and rant in a few weeks when it's still not here.

A Canadian warehouse would be amazing!! The prices on this site are the best but the wait is brutal

Just thought Id bump this to the top. Cause sometimes the only thing that I considering when buying from here or a Canadian site, is the wait time.

bump.
Obviously this is a major decision and would require a serious investment but I think if Bodybuilding.com opened a warehouse in Canada (montreal specifically, or somewhere in Quebec for tax reasons) they would dominate the Canadian market.
The reason myself and most other Canadians don't order through bb.com is that once you add the shipping charges the price will almost double.
Many online retailers have established warehouses in Canada over the last little while and while I know nothing of bb.com's finances, I would bet that a CDN warehouse would be a wise investment.
Just a thought. Would be awesome if it happened.

A bb.com warehouse would be awesome. But, as I mentioned many many posts earlier which you may or may not have seen you cannot operate a soley online business in Canada. It needs to have a retail aspect as well.
And, theres a reason prices are higher in Canada becuase where do you think the Canadain wholesalers get the products from??? the U.S. Wholesalers obviously buy it at a marked up price from US manufacturers. The wholesaler then sells it to the retailer (at a markup) and then the retailer sells it at their retail price (GNC, Popeye's etc etc etc....). In the US, retail and online can get product DIRECT from the manufacturer which allows for a HUGE price gap between traditional supply chain methods (manufacturer, wholesaler, retailer).

x2, the prices where i live are
50$ for 44 paks of universal animal pak multi vitamins(on the internet, ~60 bucks if i go to a supp store)
60$ on the internet for 5lbs of ON whey, and about 75$ if i go to a supp store
BB.com has these for like 20$ and 40$, i would buy off them but the shipping is too long, and they don't ship animal pak for some reason.
BB.com if you came to canada you'd kick all the other sup store's asses!

Prices are crazy here is Canada! That wouldn't change if bb.com had a Canadian warehouse. Different rules would apply to them and TONS of their products would not to "allowed".

Good idea, However to put up and control the warehouse would cost quite alot Also?
Unless people donate and stuff I don't think its reasonable for BB.com to pay for it.
Since they already do alot of deliverys worldwide, a warehouse isn't really required.
What I would suggest is that they charge extra for High priority deliveries which would charge more for the delivery and depending on how close/far they live. They could have them delivered faster.
Although I'm sure that there would be quite alot of income coming in from the warehouse since people out there who don't know much about the website would obviously visit to see what it's like and then that way the amount of customers would increase which would give a great benefit to bb.com but ofcourse it has its up and down's and unless people really want it, I don't think it should be done.
You have to remember how much it would cost and etc. and then how much income would be recieved from it and if they make more profit it or not and etc. So it's really upto the Admins/Mods and other workers BB.com has to figure out if they want to take the risk or not.

this is a good idea, and it would make more people buy from canada that don't already. e.g. people that don't like the wait

Also using ups instead of canada post would speed things along by more than a week. Canada post is just slow.

Although UPS is faster than Canada Post, you are far more likely to be taxed at the border. I ordered a set of Denon's from the States, and it got taxed (around 100USD in total).
My bb.com order around Feb was around 230USD. No problem getting it through customs. No taxes or anything except for waiting a week.

I don't mind waiting a week or 2 for my stuff to get here. I just wish i didn't have to pay a small fortune to ship my stuff here.
Faster shipping probably would not make me order more. If shipping costs were reduced then i would probably order more often.

Well hopefully starting today we will have a new shipping method (IPD) that is supposed to speed up the process of getting orders through Canadian customs. We're told that pretty much everyone up there should get orders in about a weeks time

bb.com is actually on par, or in some cases cheaper than any other US based stores as far as I know.
