i think it's true what sheepdawg was saying. i know when i was with my ex cassinova jackson... i know sweet ass name right? some people had some really mean looks and words to give us. and it was mostly people with in our families. yeah i have some closed minded folk in my family. and he did too. so it's not just white people that think its wrong its all kinds of races that don't like interracial relationships.

i don't care what color you are or what age you are. if you treat me with respect i'm all yours. if you carry and conduct yourself in a positive way i don't see skin at all. i really look at the eyes and see the soul.

Also this might sound weird but I think it depends on the color/nationality spectrum too and whether they are male or female, due to stereotypes.

For example an Asian and a White person is more acceptable then a African (dark) man and a white woman. Or a male/female latino(a) (with no heavy accent) and a white male or female would be more acceptable, then a Jamaican and a white.

Most individuals will only have relationships with people who are the same color as them and close to it, because its more acceptable with family and friends (and their sense of beauty, ie. the white guy saying "I will only date light skin black")


So for those of you who have cross that color spectrum of night and day (lol) I really commend you.

I like dark skinned black girls more than light. They look... icky.

I agree 100% most people stay within their race because of fear and rejection of societ,friends, and family. Most families who dont agree with interracial dating is just trying to save face for the same reason. I agree with interracial dating(Dating white girl and my daugther is mixed). I dont care what race my daugther will grow up and date, to me it doesnt matter. I rather see her happy with the person no matter what the race is and most people fail to realize this. If shes happy with a white man then so be it, all that matters if he is treating her right.

I dated a white girl. Long story short her mom and dad were a crazy nazi couple and they didnt like there blond, blue eyed, white daughter going out with a black boy.

Personally I love interracial couples. Id date a white girl no doubt, but id honestly date any race, I have no preference. Just as long as we are on the same level when it comes to religion and morals then its all good.

I was in line at ross the other day and there was this good looking black guy(no homo) with a really good looking white girl holding hands. The whole store was like personally i was like i guess some people will just never accept it.

i've dated women from different races.....but I was with this spanish girl (we were deeply in love with each other) and her dad never met me before......but when he from out she was dating a black guy, he got drunk.....went into her room the night before her b-day and started choking her, her mom ran into the room and pushed him off. We ended it after that because she was just getting hurt too many times, and i couldn't live with myself knowing she died because she was with me. We're still good friends......but after 3 years apart.....i honestly thing that when she graduates this month...we're gonna somehow get back together.....

I'm not saying your point isn't valid, i'm simply saying this is real life! Life is tough! Plenty of "mixed" children grow up to be emotionally stable people and have been able to fully integrate into society; finding a SO who loves them, achieving both financial and social success.

I'm just a person that likes to step out of the box and view things objectively, my father is from europe and my mother is from here (US). I truly believe that has given me an advantage! I've had the opportunity to learn from my father and gain some insight on how people on the other side of the world think, free from the bias and schemas imposed on me by belonging to only one culture!

Perhaps I am the exception to the rule, however, i'm sure i'm not the only exception!

Ok maybe you need to come back to reality. In a Utopian society your mindset is beautiful but this America. In America, we try to categorize people into singular races(evident in any job application,financial aid application, lunch cafeterias in high school/college, workplace group of friends, etc.). With that in mind, The majority(not ALL) of mixed(by mixed I mean two vastly contracting races in America) children will have identity issues growing up because of the American society trying to categorize them. This is not nothing new(e.g. Obama). With that aspect ONLY I think a single non-mixed child would have an advantage since they would not have to worry about this issue. I'm not saying that they won't face other hardships/issues in life whether that be financial, racial, etc., I'm just saying its one less issue for the child to face. And I do think the cons outweigh the "edge". You can say "..well we need to change the fact that Americas try to categorize every race..and that needs to start with us"..but I'm not willingly to experiment with my future child..lol.

And the self-discrepancy theory(know a little bit about psychology myself..almost minored in it ), I thought that was for "outcasts" of an race. Example a black guy hanging around all whites because he grew up in predominantly white area, OR a white guy hanging around all blacks because he grew up in predominantly black area?
