Anyone think we need to get rid of the thongs in posing?

Its funny how people think you have to be homophobic or insecure in some way if you don't like seeing guys in skimpy little thongs. I suppose for some this might be the case, but I don't think there is anything wrong with somebody who doesn't like it. Likewise to somebody who does.

Personally, a good friend of mine in high school was gay. I've worked with gay people and been very cool with them. I have no problem with it, nor do I fear homosexuality. But I personally don't like the thongs these dudes are wearing. Does it mean I think they're gay, no. But I do think it looks gay, and frankly disgusting. I don't care if a dude has striated glutes, nor do I want to watch him pull his already small thong further up his ass while he flexes or do a handstand while spreadin his legs like Johnny Snowglobes.

It just ain't my thing, and I don't see anything wrong with a straight guy not wanting to see that or look at it. And that certainly doesn't mean I don't like bodybuilding or its not for me. You don't have to like every aspect of a sport, or anything for that matter to love it or enjoy it.

Not much different really except the linin around is thinner.

To my knowledge, Arnold wore that style of trunks exclusively because they concealed his wide waist. Other bodybuilders of the time used the range of generic trunks from time to time. Nowadays, the trunks have a narrower range of coverage in the rear so that we can see the edges of the glutes, not the whole cheek. We're really only dealing with the loss of perhaps an inch worth of coverage across the perimeter of the trunks. Realistically speaking, bodybuilders have always worn skimpy attire on stage.

As a point of fact though, a real thong shows full cheek and looks something like this.



I think we'd be having a problem if people were wearing something like that.

Are you guys in favor of the bodybuilders wearing nothing but a leaf? Or perhaps just being completely naked?

The current trunks cover up some of the glutes so you can't see them.
