Eating less.

Leg raises help, too.

Funny you asked this as I just answered this exact question on my web tv show (http://www.TheDrClayShow.com). Guess that proves it's a common question.

Studies show that the exercise that stimulates the abs the most is Bicycle Crunches. Hanging leg raises were also up there really high as well.

I would definitely include these two as part of a good overall ab routine.

Best,

For me, its definitely the Bicycle Crunches.

Once my abs are strong enough, I will add the Ab Wheel into my abs workout

Is this what you mean when you say "bicycle crunch"

Elbow to opposite knee.

How do you guys breath while doing bicycle crunches?

Exhale while bringing the knee to touch the elbow and inhale while extending the leg?

I do weighted and unweighted ab stuff. Overall, I gotta say that if I had to pick one ab exercise to do, it would be twisting weighted situps.

idk if anyone has said it or not, but Planks in my opinion work for me the best. Well after I started doing them I started building muscle below the beltline, I could see a new pair of abs, which I think attracts women, so I have been doing planks ever since.

Heavy back squats too.

I'd say Heavy back squats, overhead squats, standing overhead presses and deadlifts. Anything that causes you to stablize your midsection under a heavy load.

Leg raises for me every other workout. But i find just doing compound exercises like dead lifts and squats have brought my abs out more then anything else and i only dead lift and squat once a week.

Hi, i have been working on my abs since months ago, i have get a great definition on upper abs, but i still without the definition i desire on the lower ones (something like brad pitt on fight club must be good). Does someone can recommend a certain exercise for this ? ... actually, i have like a 20 different exercise. one day for cardio and one day for workouts. On cardio i usually play soccer, go to run, or go on to the bike.

On workout days, i choose 5 of those 20 exercise. But i always make bycicle crunches and legs raising. Have you a recommendation there ? i can leave all the "overall abs exercises" and focues my efforts on my lower abs ?. i make 3 sets per exersice, first set is 18 repetitions, secon 15, asn thirt 13. does this is okay ?

Pd. I have been using the abs wheel a time ago, but i think that it hurts my back, do am im right ? or its just my imagination ? how many repetitions and sets would be fine ?.

Pd. sorry for all the questions, but im a noob on this, since a year i have made some workouts and stuff, just to get on shape, but since 3 weeks ago, i want to get some extra mass, i have join this forum, and i love it
