First comp...any advice?
I'll be doing my first competition on May 16. I've been practicing the posing a lot and still need more work on it but other than that and getting more shredded what advice do you have for a beginner that's never even been to watch a show?

Main advice is nail your posing. gotta remember where the judges are, make sure on your back poses to angle down towards them so they can see your bicep peak and the best angle for your lat spread. Also, be sure to rotate so each judge can see you clearly.

This sounds exactly like me 5k during my first show 6 months ago! All I know is I took confidence in my conditioning and basically got in the zone! I pumped up w/pushups before the stage. Bring some elastic bands with ya so you can do various exercises i.e. curls, delts...Once you get on stage pretend you are competing against yourself! dont bother looking at what everyone else is doing,..just hit your poses to the best of your ability.

I'm going to try my first next year. I have asked for advice since I have never been to one either, my friend who was a champion, said to video your routine and poses and practice every day, the two weeks before the competition. Get an experienced person if you can, to judge your poses and routine it will make a difference. Make sure you have everything prepared days in advance, get a base tan applied a day or two before the show. Smile when on stage and have fun. Good luck with your competition.

I would would try and go watch a show if I could. If you can't you will be fine, but I think it would be a good idea.

Hey Jeff, you won't need to bring much for pump up equipment. Just bring a towel and ask me for help. I'll help you with pumping up before stepping on stage. Keep training! We are almost there.
You look bigger, then 148. That is a good sign of a bodybuilder. You also have some great conditioning. Keep focused!
