plenty of threads that cover this but IMO train them as much as possible. I try to train them every time I workout

Depends how hard you go... Some people recommend training them every day. That's a personal preference. If you find you're sore and you intensely work them out than I'd suggest giving them a rest day or two. What is your current ab workout like? Do you do any weighted exercises?

I do not believe any muscle should be trained everyday, however some people do see results after doing so (IMO results peak too quickly) but its each to their own. I prefer to alternate between calves and abs because i feel they both need to be trained several times a week

I train mine twice a week... once with emphasis on heavy low rep sets and the other with emphasis on light high rep sets
no need to train them every day, let them recover like every other muscle

This is a good training suggestion, but it differs for everybody. There is no set # of days, # of reps or exercises that will guarantee results. You have to find what works for you through trial & error. I've seen people with great abs that swear by every day ab training, I've also seen people like Kyle.Lgk who only hit them a couple times a week with the same results. The bottom line is to find what works for you & remember abs are more a result of diet and body fat % IMO...good luck!

Most experts recommend training the abs 2-4 sessions per week.

Depends on how hard and how much volume you train them with.
2x a week is best IMO

agree... diet has a lot to do with abs
other then hitting abs twice a week... squats and deadlifts help develop abs as well (core work)

It really depends how hard you go braa, I have tried training abs as a warm up recently and it has been really working. I do around 50 proper, slow crunches so I really feel it; 50 leg raises; 50 torso twists each side on the twist machine and I'm going to incorporate some side bends too. Doing them as a warm up means they don't loose intensity by being done after the workout, and your core is then tight for your workout which is safer. I also find that I don't loose any intensity for whatever bodypart I'm training that day either.
If you prefer to utterly nail your abs I would bring it down to twice a week, but I think training them less and often is more condusive to building a stellar physique - you don't have to add another body part to your training thus keeping more time for back, shoulders etc.
